Cross is a great climb to ride, a really good loop to do is...continue on from the top into Higher Bentham, then turn right in town and ride for about 5-6km, then turn right to come back on yourself and do Keasden Fell/Bowland Knotts which takes you back over towards Clitheroe, Keasden is an equally good, if not better climb. . .theyre both pretty easy but they're lovely climbs to ride! Doing that same route in the opposite direction is pretty good aswell, spoilt for choice! 🤣

Great shout, I think I've done that loop. I've come back at Bentham through Clapham I think and that way there's another top 100 climb. A great place to ride, hopefully the weather improves soon!

@@Russ_Dillon Yeah its a gorgeous area to ride in, very lucky. I'm suffering a chest infection at moment or i'd have been up there yesterday myself, clawing at the walls to get out watching these videos haha. Newton Fell is another local fav, that leads down into Waddington (Waddy fell is another climb)

@@Nosh_Feratu I went out this morning but I was drenched after 10 miles so after yesterday I turned back, now it's beautiful outside! Well I hope you feel better soon, I did Newton Fell for the 1st time a few weeks ago, that was tough. I'm hoping to get to the lakes soon and also do Great Dun Fell!

I had clear lense glasses in winter and they did the job, it was horrible at times yesterday felt like the depths of autumn/winter

I’ve never done anywhere in the forest of bowland and I don’t live that far from it. I’m near the Carnforth end, what would you suggest for a new cyclist to sample the place out and a good parking spot. Thanks

So you could start from Lancaster, there's a good bike path that takes you into the North of the Forest of Bowland. Or maybe Garstang, and there you are bang in the middle as well!
