I'd argue that the efficiency lost by your mom chatting is in fact gained through lifting the spirits of your help, she seems to brighten everyone's day and there's a lot to be said about that! She reminds me of my mother bringing supper to the field and riding a few rounds to chat!

Mark Bowe of Barnwood Builders once said people told me "To never hire family or friends. He said "I hire friends and treat them like family."" As a small business owner I wish I could hire family and friends and treat them the way you do. Never forget who has gotten you to where you are and compensate them well.. Monetary compensation means very little to compare to be treated like family. Hire smarter people, work harder, so that they realize isn't that worth doing it themselves

2 comments. I also work on a big farm and the ladies deliver evening meals to us also and that is SO appreciated. Between fixing those meals they also spend most days running for parts and shuttling people around. Let's hear it for the ladies! 2nd, that house looks so much like the house I grew up in and then went back to after my parents moved out of it. Reminded me of my last days in it before I finally gave in and demolished it. Floors sagging, doorways crooked, there wasn't a flat place or a plumb wall in the end.

It is real, lol. The roller is so heavy and wide. Of course I have a 100hp tractor and a round baler as my equipment so I will walk away now😂. Great content even when your running 100 mph to get it all done.

I love the introduction to the Larson crew as we go. The way the farm operates is so interesting. Grandma made spaghetti in the last video. You guys sit around and enjoy the meal together- as it should be. Everyone is family! Chet- you and I are twins. We go at the day with the same exuberance and tenacity. I’ll laugh thru stress until I finally have to excuse myself. You guys are just fun. We have to work but there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy it. We need more people like you guys - ESPECIALLY DUGGO! Visiting the property that you now own- heck yeah that makes it different. It makes it awesome! Visit often for inspiration Eric’s attention to detail is great. I’m that way. When I rake leaves - I pluck up every single leaf- otherwise it’s just not done. It’s amazing that those tandem tires don’t self delete, the way they’re flopping about.

Back in the 50’s through 90’s my dad and uncle owned 450 acre dairy farm in western Pennsylvania. We Milked 120 or so Holstein and Brown Swiss cows plus a few Angus for beef. Western Pennsylvania is all hills. We farmed grain and alfalfa for feed with an IH C, and H. Nothing was flat but we managed. Busted our arses but made a few bucks. My point? If it wasn’t for my Aunt Ann the whole enterprise would have gone n belly up. There’s almost always a good woman involved whenever you find a successful organization. Well done Amy.
