Yielding vs. Overcoming Isometrics
These both have great utility for athletes.
1️⃣ Overcoming isometrics:
Really beneficial for ramping up to a maximal contraction in a certain position.
This can help you build strength at a specific joint angle for example to improve jump performance.
2️⃣ Yielding isometrics:
Involve holding against a load that’s trying to pull you. Ex: Plank, split squat, calf raise hold, etc.
I’ve used these with a lot of runner’s to improve gait mechanics.
In my current program, I’m doing split squat overcoming isometrics.

After I introduced yelding Iso on my training, my athleticism improved to the roof and also my joint and ligaments are so much healthier than before.

What exactly are you doing ? So how can isometrics be used to build work capacity/conditioning ? Like how would you use isometrics, what positions/angles to run a better 100m or 400m or 1500m ?

You would want to hit positions that are close to running specific and joint specific as isos make up for the lack of joint strengthing that our sport gives us​@@decathlete2000

I like ballistic isometrics for the fast contract/relax capacity, especially at the eccentric/concentric transitional phases of movements 👍🏼🔥
