I like how Julie Foudy just calls out on Ellis BS move with the back line and Tobin's position. I felt that moment to the core! She scored, she's technical, has amazing footwork and that's what she gets. But really though, we needed to solidify that backline, Ali Krieger needed that time with the team. ps. Thanks @CoconutJuice!!! You're always bringing us the game! =) Thank you!

I am sorry to say it.... the fear from other teams of the US women is Gone. Give credit to mexican team of nubes makin the us ladies look mediocre. The way jill positions them is huge problem. I dont get it. We gonna need a lot of luck. I predict we dont win sad to even type that but its how i feel

the Mexican goalie kept that game from being 8-0!

These days Mexican goalkeepers are noted for their talent - not for what Jorge Campos' goalkeeping kit resembled in the USA 1994 "men's" World Cup.

does anyone else think that it would be really cool for Abby to get some minutes in the broadcast booth?
@hollymulchi15915 жыл бұрын
Having a Starter like Carli Lloyd come off the bench is huge for the US. She's the spark plug; 5 goals in 3 games playing just half the game in each. The boring bloke in the booth(commentator) didn't grasp the strategy of bringing in Lloyd and re energizing the team with her energy and experience.
@genearbogast75255 жыл бұрын
I agree 100% Subbing Lloyd with fresh legs at critical times really sucks for opposing defenders....

apart from the missed scoring opportunities in the first half and the missed long passes to Mallory Pugh in the second half, this was one of the best games the UWNT has played.

Jill Ellis needs to go after the World Cup. Converting Dunn (an attacker) to a left back. Heath was a right winger in the 1st half then played as a left back in the 2nd half. What?! The U.S. have abundance of young talents and we can't find and develop players to play their natural position?
@genearbogast75255 жыл бұрын
It was strange to see those positional changes for sure.Ellis has a unique and enviable problem with the amount of talent. depth and experience that she has on her roster. I suspect that Coach Ellis was using this final friendly as an experiment or even a ruse for situations she might encounter in June/July ? Given her experience and results there must be an intelligent strategy to this IMO...

And now what do you think about this?)))))) Believe me, Jill Ellis "not in vain eats her bread" In modern football, universal football player is much more valuable than a football player who can close only one position on the field. For example, Julie Ertz, who perfectly plays the game as a center-back, tough defensive midfielder and offensive midfielder. She can give a great goal assist and also can score a goal in standard situations and from the game. Real universal soldier.

Without Abby Wambach, Alex Morgan is not as effective as before. Wambach used to draw the attention of the defenders that gave room to Morgan to shoot.
@fattybogracious5 жыл бұрын
I second that view. Maybe Horan could play a Wambach role?

I have always said that Christen Press and Carly Lloyd should be in the starting line-up. I don't know what match is the coach watching !!
@hollymulchi15915 жыл бұрын
Sarfraz Khan Its called strategy. Coach Ellis has said that Christen Press is the fastest player in the team and Lioyd has over 200 caps so I think she knows..
@SarfrazKhan-qy9nx5 жыл бұрын
I maintain what I said.
@tsesck20085 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Even US controlled the ball in the first half, they didn't pose much threat to the Mexican goal keeper. Morgan and Heath were too soft. If the opponent scored one or two goals before putting Lloyd and Press in to play catch up, it can be too late. Not sure what kind of strategy is that.

Thank you for your comment on my post. I am very concerned about our national team.
@ryder8835 жыл бұрын
Sarfraz Khan press is fast and so it’s best to bring her on later when the other team is tired; press does not have the quality of the front 3 of Rapinoe, Morgan and Heath. However I do agree Lloyd should be in the midfield going into the World Cup alongside Ertz and one other midfielder

Well said by Fowdy at the after game commentary... attacking wing backs have been a thing for a long time... Maldini, Zambrotta, Alvez? Just to name a few...

The U.S. looks slow and a bit predictable. France is quicker and more precise, Germany is tougher and more precise and England looks very hungry. All three of these teams appear to have a higher work rate. I sense a bit of overconfidence creeping in to the U.S. side. Let's hope the U.S. women get inspired and become much more ruthless once they get to France or they could be taking an early flight home.

I think that putting Tobin at left back for 26 minutes indicates that Jill will use Dunn as an offensive pseudo sub late in a match.
@genearbogast75255 жыл бұрын
I agree that Coach Ellis used this final friendly for tactical position changes that might be useful in France....

4:06 was kelley(?) pretending she was injured because she saw the Mexican player was...?
Ha ha ha ha Abezethubou, lie, the Americans did not look as spectacular as in other games, except for the third goal, the previous ones were due to errors in the Mexican defense, not due to successes of the American offensive
2 a 0 jajaja y las narradoras molestas, pero la verdad el fútbol femenil no vale, nada y lo digo con todo respeto, saludos desde tu padre México.

After that brief cameo I'm willing to replace Foudy with Abby permanently, but can anyone explain why we're taking Morgan Brian when we haven't played her since...?
@genearbogast75255 жыл бұрын
I'd love to see and hear Abby in the booth screaming at refs.players and coaches ! it was kind of slick how she just "popped in" to the broadcast.Perhaps we will see more of her in the future I hope? As far as Brian goes she is quality and experience especially in this system with this roster. Coach Ellis has to plan for any situation imaginable.......
