Dude. Anthony is the best instructor I’ve had. Had a kite death loop “(my equipment failure)” he saved my life. Dude is calm and patient. Would recommend him to anyone starting. Thanks Anthony. See ya tomorrow

Very nice - an important matter for beginners which is not often discussed.

I used to find it impossible to put my feet in the straps whilst holding the board handle. Now I just always do my left foot whilst holding the board handle with my right hand ( kite control with left hand ), then I grab the right foot strap and put my right foot in. I then check kite position and make sure it’s at 12, often needing some correction, then I grab the kite board handle and pull the make sure the board is tightly on both feet … then I’m ready to start. This method took ages to get right. I found putting the board on my feet a huge sticking point , particularly in the sea where there are waves and tides currents to deal with.

You can also hold left hand on left footpad and righthand on the bar. After the right foot is in the right footpad you can let go of the left footpad and stick your left foot in the left footpad. .. or vise versa.

Awesome video! Any suggestions/tips for getting board on your feet in waves🌊 & surf?

Body drag past the break then use one hand to keep the kite around 12 😊

@@KiteboardingStPetersburg beach 🏖️ is waist-chest deep water for > 100 yards, so body dragging not practical, + waves 🌊 3-4 ft. Orientation of board perpendicular to wave & kite 🪁 slightly angled a bit from 12 o’clock helps with the tension, to prevent rotating. Practicing in heavy surf helps too😬

Thanks for this video covering a sometimes overlooked element to getting started. I just realized after watching your video why the kite wants to send across the window when I'm putting my board on...too much pull on the bar when I lean back to get the board on sometimes! How's the typical Tampa wind in June?

Easy on flat water spots without much current. Big tip: Just be quick. And if you have trouble with flexibility to reach to the board wit both feet in. Just put on foot in push the board away sliding it past your knee and than put your other foot in.

Would like to see the kite flying position - when you make the standing dry start😅

Even if you cant see the kite position in the video look at the depower mainline (middle line) that will always point to where the kite is

Good video but too much about wind and positioning of board.
