This is so interesting! I only started to realize I may be pregnant because water began tasting like metal. I thought nothing of it until I realized the next morning. It’s only been 6 days, received a negative test, then I realized the instructions said to not chug water prior, and don’t take it later in the day.. so I could’ve screwed that up 😅. today makes 7 days and the test didn’t read at all; no yes or no just went completely blank. It’s very early so I’ll just have to wait another week. I just want the yes so I don’t feel crazy you know? Update: it’s Mother’s Day took two test, and just found out I’m pregnant 🤭

The reason we mistake pregnancy symptoms in the 2ww is because the rise in progesterone is what occurs in both pre period and early oregnancy. It’s a pain! I’m currently in my 2ww and trying not to symptom spot but it’s hard! I’m 2dpo and having headaches and cramps. Trying not to read too much into it though. I had the same symptoms at the same stage with my son 13 years ago. Fingers crossed it’s pregnancy 🤞🏻 xx

Even taking ovulation tests, some people struggle to get pregnant. I took ovulation tests, took clomid, and trigger shots to force ovulation so I KNOW exactly when I'd be ovulating. Still didn't conceive for 6 whole years!

I get "pregnancy" symptoms every month! I think it is just how in tune you are with your body and if you've taken birth control. BC will really change up your body and you won't notice these symptoms. But if you are more in tune with your body you will notice these things. So happy for your new pregnancy Kendra! Cycle before BFP: nausea, fatique, and pressure in my cervix/vagina. I never have PMS symptoms, so I was sure I was pregnant even with 3 negative tests (7 DPO, 10 DPO and day of period). Ended up with heavy period, debilitating actually. Went to gynecologist, she saw a possible endometrial polyp, excessive endometrial thickening of 17,3 mm (there are studies that showed tickening above 14 decreases chances of pregnancy almost by half, other studies concluded that thickening above 16 mm indicated bigger risks of malignancy). More so, I had been checking cervix positioning every day after that awful period, and somewhere around 8 or 9 DPO it became so hard, like a squeezed fist of a mad man, "tip of the nose" was a joke. So, I was SURE I wasn't pregnant, 99,5% sure. There is always that "but what if" thought in our TTC heads, so I took the test around 10 DPO just to silence that 0.5% thought in order to be able relax and peacefully wait for my period. Olso was a bit bored with 20 test strips lying around. And it came positive. WTF man?! W T F!? Not even a faint line, but a decent line. I had no symptoms other than a bit more of the cervical mucus (watery). And some mildest nausea. But I had more severe nausea cycle before (with 3 negative tests), therefore I wasn't giving it importance. So. There is that.

You get a progesterone surge in your tww which is the same hormone that surges and maintains during pregnancy. This is why you get similar symptoms whether pregnant or not. It's why symptom spotting is heartbreaking and frustrating. Congratulations!!!

I’ve learned that some people are not imagining these symptoms it’s actually normal for Progesterone and other hormones to fluctuate and cause different symptoms throughout your cycle. I think that the TWW encourages women to really listen and get to know their bodies

its crazy how our mind-body connection works!! after all those yrs ttc you dont knowwwwwwwww how many times I thought I was pregnant when I wasn't like I was SO confident. I alsooo thought that the day I do get pregnant its going to be different and I wont experience anything but bcos we were due for our ivf start date the day after my expected period, (we didnt actively try that month) i just kept thinking "what if" we'd be that couple with a miraculous bfp before ivf. That thought kept creeping up but bcos we tried for so long I tried to not think about it but the day before ivf I just woke up with the "urge" to take a test just to get it over an done with. lo'&behold the biggest BFP EVER~ I saw it from far away I walked to it like 'omg omg omg' the longest walk of my life :D but yeah I didn't have any symptoms, actually I felt & feel WAY better pregnant than when I wasn't!

I dont think we “make these symptoms up in our heads”. We’re just more in tune with our bodies but all these symptoms are more likely due to progesterone/PMS. I think it’s impossible to distinguish the difference until you get that BFP

Just have to say, we see a lot online of people having symptoms before their period is due and testing positive before as well, but that’s really not normal. The body really can’t know it’s even pregnant until implantation, which is typically around when your period is due. Just have to say all this because it sucks to get hopes up when it’s just pre menstrual symptoms. If you’re pregnant, the hormones will continue to rise, and if not, they will plummet and your period will start.

I had exactly the same thing. I was CONVINCED that I was pregnant and was devastated that it was negative. The following month I had zero symptoms and thought for sure I wasn't pregnant, but sure enough I was. I think the symptoms I experienced the first month were probably PMS.

My doctor did confirm that if you are indeed pregnant a ovulation test will pick it up. She has two kids and she used those!

The Ovia app did not work for me. I have a slightly longer cycle than most but tracked for 6 months before we started trying so it could have a better idea of when I would ovulate. It said I was ovulating a week before another app, Flo, which turned out to be more accurate. I did get pregnant on the first try but I don’t think that would have happened if I relied on ovia alone.

TheeOrangapoo I use the Ovia app, but I haven’t got pregnant yet 😭. I know they say it takes on average a year to conceive. But I believe my cycle is a little longer too. But it’s still average...if that makes sense. My period will come on anywhere between 30-35 days sometimes it comes on the 36th day but it’s rare.

Allison Roussel my cycle was usually about 32 days. I know we got lucky, getting pregnant on the first try so I don’t really feel like I can hand out advice but I would recommend seeing what a different app says. Like I said, I used Flo and it said I ovulated almost a week later than Ovia. You could also try tracking your basal body temp or using ovulation strips. It will happen, it just takes different amounts of time for everyone!

@@allisonroussel7154 look into getting bulk ovulation tests on Amazon. Brand I bought was clinical guard. I got 40 for around $10. When ovia says I'm fertile I start testing to see exactly when I ovulate just to get a better idea of my cycle and what is typical for me

I have been using Flo for almost a year just to track periods and it's so accurate for me, down to the ovulation cramps on it's predicted ovulation day. The app Glow is giving me the exact same readings as Flo, and Ovia is telling me I'm ovulating basically a week after Flo and Glow say I am so I'll just pay more attention to those two instead of Ovia. My TWW starts Thursday! 🙂

So I have been trying this entire year and had two losses, so keeping track was something I stopped doing a long time ago. I wasn’t really tracking my period anymore but one week before my missed period I had period like cramps, I told my husband ugh I’m getting my period tomorrow. Then, my period didn’t come and I started thinking about when I had my last period, and my period wasn’t due for another week. So, I waited for another week and after being about two days late, I thought maybe I’ll take a pregnancy test because I’m not sure when my period is suppose to come. So, I took one and two dark lines came up!! I couldn’t believe it!!! Those period cramps were most likely implantation cramps because it literally felt like my period was coming. My other symptom was sore nipples but i get sore nipples when I’m about to get my period too.

I had all those symptoms too had a positive preg test then started bleeding the next day. Then I found out what a chemical pregnancy is. So it may not be all in your head. Apparently it’s very common so most females don’t know they were ever pregnant

This happened to me too on multiple months. One month I was 7 days late and had lots of symptoms. When I did end up getting pregnant I mentioned those other months to my doctor and he said it was possible that it was a chemical pregnancy too!
