OK, you have done your best and nobody likes negative comments of course but it pains me. Harry, as the proud owner of a 1969 series 1 1300 Fulvia Sport Zagato, this series of videos has been both inspirational and invaluable to say the least! I am currently going through the restoration process; the car has been stripped back to bare metal, all the metal work carried out and painted in it’s original ‘Blu Mendoza’. My engine is currently being completely rebuilt and I’m hoping she’ll be back on the road for the summer. Given that there only of handful of Zagato owners in the country I hope our lovely cars get to meet up at some point!

There are considerably more than a handful of Lancia Fulvia Sports in the UK. About 60 counted as licensed in ‘How Many Left’. Now if you want a really rare Fulvia in the UK buy a Berlina 😂
@martinrichardhorrocks98692 жыл бұрын
@@tsb3093 Agree. These are decent cars and there is always one for sale for 30K GBP plus. Maybe it's Xmas, but the elephant in the room is why the dire state of this car was only discovered about episode 4. How marque experts could have the car in the shop for months without knowing it was a plastic pig is not credible.

@@tsb3093 but only around 60 made in 1600 rhd form.. Maybe 20 survive on the road. The 1600 sport has a unique 5 speed box with longer 5th gear and makes car a relatively easy M-way cruiser. @tsb30932 жыл бұрын
@@oldbasted Jonathan Wren’s comment to which I originally replied was not specific to RHD cars nor 1600s. I was simply clearing up the point that in general there are many more Fulvia Sports in the UK than he was suggesting….and making a plug for the Berlina version of which I am an owner. The earliest Fulvias were the Series 1 Berlinas and it slightly irritates that many people refer to the Fulvia Coupe as a ‘Fulvia’ or even worse ‘the normal Fulvia’…in relation to the Fulvia Sport. All three are fantastic cars of course.

Your emotional response to seeing the completed car was fab too see. It’s what’s missing in modern cars regardless of their propulsion. Nothing moves us anymore. As the manufacturers have chased BHP, technology and become mobility companies, they’ve lost that emotion. 50 years ago that Zagato sparked your love of cars and 50 years later it’s still able to move you physically and emotionally. I look down a typical street in Britain today and I’m not surprised young people are not bothered by cars anymore. That they don’t have an emotional response. I don’t see any 10 year old lusting over a Model S or Kia EV6 enough to spark a lifetimes passion in cars. A passion that can inspire hard work to be able to indulge. And I certainly don’t see these cars being restored to this standard or any standard for that matter, in 50 years time. Cars should be an emotional thing. They take us on journeys where we truly experience life’s ups and downs, create memories and live. I’m so pleased this Zagato gets to create even more memories for you Harry, for many more years to come. Thank you for letting us share the journey with you, for not hiding your emotions and for sharing the costs. At £100k I think it represents massive value as what else for that money could spark those memories, that joy, that time travel, that excitement. In short, nothing. Thank you again and I look forward to seeing more of the Zag on the channel.

Who gives a toss about the cost? If you can afford it, it’s a moot point. The whole point is the joy and happiness and bringing back memories and creating new ones. And this is truly one of the most joyous videos I have seen for quite some time. I would do it in a heartbeat if i could afford it on at least a couple of cars I have owned simply due to the memories they evoked, the joy of driving them, the love I have for those cars and the connection they give me to another time. This Lancia clearly does this for Harry and what a journey and what a result. An absolutely stunning bit of work from all involved but the biggest part of this is that look and smile on the face and the exuberance and sheer happiness it clearly has brought. We are dead a long time, we can’t take things with us, enjoy the things and enjoy the moments and this is one of them. Awesome video!

I've really enjoyed the video series. Body work guys have been outstanding. Such a tragedy if they retire and skills go with them. I wish you every pleasure in it, Harry.

What an amazing job. And an emotional reunion. I think the Fulvia coupe was one of the prettiest cars ever made. But the Zagato is something very special.

Harry, your love, passion, appreciation knowledge for this car and many others is fantastic as well as all your videos,car or farm, Your self, Ian Tyrrell, Retro Power are an absolute pleasure to watch. Attention to detail is fantastic. Even if the Zagato cost you £200000 you’ve bloody worked for it. Enjoy. Merry Christmas 👍🏻

What an absolute jewel of a car. Hats off to those whose artistry and skill contributed to the final product, and to you for sharing it all with us. Can't wait to see the smile on your face when you finally get to open it up on the road.

Not many people would have the passion to do a full restoration on a car 🚘 like this one! only one person could and only one person did and that was Harry thank you sir for having passion and insight to pour bucket loads of cash into this project, I thank you 🙏🏼

Congratulations, Harry, for your dream to come true in so many ways! I notice you title this "[the] restoration is over..." rather than the restoration is complete!!! It has been a long time, indeed, but the results speak for themselves. Happy Holidays to you and your family!

Congratulations to you Harry, it looks absolutely gorgeous and a real credit to all of those who have worked on it - they should be rightly proud of their efforts. Hope we can see it being enjoyed in videos in the coming year! Cheers!
