In this video, I talk about what I think about my 2021 Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang after 2 years of ownership. I go over some shortcomings, expenses, driving impressions, and overall talk about how the car not only lived up to, but exceeded my expectations. Thank y'all for watching! @TexasRevving . ? Would you Keep the Carbon Fiber Wheels for your GTD since the gtd has magnesium wheels to gain a slight advantage. O you that’s not necessary

I was unlucky to get a "lemon" GT500 in 2020, and I stuck with it anyway as have it to this day. it has only about 20,000 miles ATM, but first trans failed during the first 1500 miles due to the coolant line leaking, and 3 years later after that incident the second transmission developed the same seal/coolant line leak, but luckily I caught it in time and refilled the lost amount of trans oil after applying an aftermarket coolant line. Still, as a result of the leak, it developed some jerking at lower speeds whem pressing the accelerator and letting go. I am going to fully swap the diff and trans oil next month and pray that does something, but basically, I will probably have to replace or upgrade the current transmission out of my own pocket now unless the full flush and replacement of the trans oil does some magic trickery (im coping lmao). EDIT: to add to my minor issue list 1. Sparkplugs were dead at 10,000 miles (like completely finished, so ideally change them earlier). 2. Theres a popping/binding sound coming from the front left of the car, which I'm currently getting fixed. (supposedly easily fixable) 3. My left side valve got damaged during heavy driving so the valve has a tinny metal sound (this one is my fault but thought I'd mention it as it's fixable but easy to happen) 4. Screws from random places just loosen...I lost a screw from my gurney flap and 2 from the engine rain shield. 5. Intercooler showed signs of leaking when I opened up the supercharger to add an upgraded manifold, but was most likely as a result of the shit sparkplugs causing miss fires, not entirely sure tho) I'm upgrading it just to be safe despite there being no more signs of issues with it. I drive this car like a maniac, but service it often to compensate. Oil changes at 3000 miles and coolants constantly checked and topped up. Fingers crossed transmission survives 😂

14:10, I just now have reached the 1 month period 1K miles on my 24 GT and a lot of these technology issues have been resolved, along with starting and remembering modes rather it be starting in track mode in track exhaust or Quiet mode/Quiet start just upon entering the car. Love the spec of your mustangs! Ill hope to buy more in my future!

As someone who currently has a '21 GT500, can also say I have little complaints, other than not getting enough time to drive it (~6900 miles to date bought new). People who claim its an automatic mustang really don't have any idea. I do miss having a manual, rowing gears, and the reality is I don't have much time to drive other then go for a spirited drive on the weekends here and there. I've considered going back to a 350 or even go to a 13/14 500 for that case alone (driver experience). Ultimately I decided not to. I'll keep it and add to the barn if needed. Anyway, I appreciate your videos and getting the insight from having the best of many worlds.

I’m a new viewer but a 2013-14 Shelby gt500 is hopefully my next car an it’s such a raw gt500 manual compared to the newer ones

I have a 2021 Ford Shelby Grabber Yellow GT500 with about 2600 miles on it. Does this cart hold onto the resale value well or does it depreciate rather quickly? It's easy to lose traction when trying to race it in drag mode against an all electric car that sprints ahead in a moment. Put carbon fiber tape underneath the front splitter to protect it against bottoming out curbs and scrapes.

The gunshot is the torque reduction, cut the spark to make the shift smoother and helps keep the transmission happy.

I had a 2020 cftp. Loved looking at the car but i didn’t like the power delivery, no low end torque like the hellcat and you can't drive wide open all the time. Sold it, missed it, picked up a 2021 and did somw power mods. I like the car, it stops amazing, mine makes over 1000hp so its fast real fast. It feels very heavy and its hard to get over that.
@ITRIEDEL29 күн бұрын
My 2020 has been fun but ever since 7k miles been having transmission problems. Lose odd gears and goes into limp mode. Dealer replaced the transmission and still had issue a month later. They suspect TCM so it’s back at the dealer.
@chainman12562 ай бұрын
I have a 2022 CFTP I bought new. My impression is the car is too heavy. If I could get a decent price, I'd sell it and go back to a modded 2010 - 2011 Corvette ZR1 (I had a 2010 before the GT500). I did $17,000 in mods to my GT500 (trying to make it more fun) so I'd take a drubbing selling it.

Not sure how a car that size even weighs that much. Considering that some performance cars are about a thousand lbs lighter...a thousand lbs - think about that.

Realy cool cars, i would sure love one. But i cant see how i would ever be able to afford one, a used one here where i live cost atleast twice what my house costs. How do you guys get that kind of money to spend on a "toy"? I have no kids and work more then full time and earn quite decent, maybee 25% more then the average full time worker i would think. To work more isnt realy a option since there is only 24 hours a day. Some advice please :)
