Yes, you can. You can play music either from the phone or the watch itself (by copying music there). Then you can use the music controller UI (usually, swipe up from the home screen of the watch) to control the playback.

Hi man, thanks for the awesome review. I ordered one a couple of days ago and it's kind of reassuring to know how good it held up for 2 years! One question on the HR sensor - you mention that the optical sensor works quite good. Was it working well all the time for you? I have dark skin (some shades darker than yours appear to be in the video), and, to be honest, with the Mi Band 2 I had the infamous issue of the optical sensor not really being able to cope with the dark skin. I guess this one has a better/stronger light+optical sensors.

Nice to hear it helped. And it still works without any issue! For me, it worked quite well and I know that it's better than the one in Mi Band for sure. So, it should be fine even though it's not 100% accurate.

Even though look similar, I see a big difference in the screens, where GTR has AMOLED and Pace (Stratos series) has Trans-reflective LCD. Because of this, battery life may differ. However, if you're planning on getting a Pace, I recommend to go with a Stratos 2 which is water resistant.

Yes, it is 3 years old, but it still is a very good one. At the end, it all comes to your preference. Anyway, if you use Always on Display on GTR, the battery won't last much. That's why I prefer trans-reflective display over OLED AOD. If your comparison is between GTR and Pace, you have to sacrifice something over the other. If you need water resistance, go with GTR. If you need a better battery life and durability, go with Pace. Anyway, Pace is IP67 water resistance. That mean it's okay to wear it in rain or even washing hands, but not in shower or swimming.

Do you use the original cable? And don't use phone chargers to charge the watch. The best would be a computer USB port or a power bank. Otherwise the battery can get damaged and will drain faster.

@@GnomezGrave i don't know. My watch is 2hand. I bought it yesterday. When not connected and manipulating the screen, it also drains the battery quickly and if using the standby screen, it takes quite a long time. So i hope it's okay

@@anhvu2543 : Well, ideally it shouldn't be the case. But if you're not using the screen much, it shouldn't be an issue. But make sure you have disabled Raise to wake, and always on backlight. It will improve the battery life a lot.

Thanks 😊 I love AmazFit Pace! The screen, battery life and durability. The only issue is the water resistance. Verge on the other hand, has different benefits such as AMOLED screen, better battery life. I'm not sure about the Always On Display though. However Verge is the newer version compared to Pace which has new hardware. So, going for the Verge will be better.

Sure the verge probably has better battery life, however hardware hasn't changed much (if not at all). Surprisingly the pace is still supported. And on top of all right now is on sale in AliExpress for 70usd so what do you loose? I am used to wearing g shock watches (right now having 3) and i want something different. However that is my point of view.

I never tried to connect headphones to the watch. But I also had the battery issue, then I realized I shouldn't charge it with phone chargers. I switched to charging with laptop USB of a USB port with low Amps. Else, it can even be an issue with firmware. Try resetting the watch.

Well, if you need a fitness tracker, this is a great choice. Or you can go for the next version: AmazFit Stratos. If you need more smartwatch features such as answering calls, replying to messages, you can go for a proper smart watch like TickWatch Pro. AmazFit definitely has a better battery life though! No. Step count is measured from the Pedometer, not from GPS. Anyway, now GPS is always on for more accuracy and mapping the movement.

How long battery last for you?

With the continuous heart rate, it's 3-4 days. And without it, 4-5 days. But it also highly dependant on the number of notifications you get, Bluetooth connectivity, activities you're doing etc.

Multiple reviews mention touch sensitivity problems and unresponsiveness. Is that an issue or was fixed by updates?

Over the two years of time, there were many bugs came along, including the touch, but they eventually fixed them. However, the tough is very super responsive even now, and the delay is a bit noticeable. But it never bothered me because I usually don't have to go through all the menus after I configure it for the first time, and also many settings can be changed from the app itself.

@@vargeszter : It's very much visible indoors unless it's pitch black dark. However, then you can use the backlight in those situations. What do you mean by "flat tire"?

Well, it can be a firmware issue. So you can try resetting the watch. If not, there is no solution other than contacting AmazFit and repair/replace it.

Nice review. Been lookin' for an updated review of this watch. Thank you for this. :D I think you should check Amazmod app from playstore. It basically turns Pace/Stratos into a full pledge smartwatch. It will give you the ability to reply to notifications etc. without sacrificing battery (unlike other mods). They recently went out of beta. I'm telling you this coz I don't see videos about it, maybe you can check it out and share it with us. Seriously, it would be awesome. :D Thanks again for your work :)
