i own a OG N55 M2 and i bought it mainly because of the sound and the engine characteristics. If i wanted a faster car id just buy an M4 but then it wouldn't drive like the M2 does. No regrets

Alternatively, if you want an s55, but don't want to spend the extra for an M2 comp, get a f8X. That's what I did, you can get a nice M4 for M2 money, maybe a couple of years older, but the S55 is worth it in my view. The only thing you lose is a highly subjective thing referred to as steering feel, and some "chuckability". Honestly the dynamics of the M4 are insanely good so I wouldn't worry.

M2 Comp (&CS) may have a better performing engine, but the infamous engine killer Crank Hub issue with the F8x M3/4 is carried over to the M2 Comp and CS, a potentially fatal issue to the engine that the OG M2 doesn't have. BMW caved in to the whims of the "executive class" (Once again!) making the M2 Comp/CS faster in a straight line and more comfortable to live with... Getting heavier, less reliable and less driver/track focused as a result. The original ethos of the M cars was for a track spec driver focused car which could be used on the road, and the OG M2 delivered on that ethos,, moreover it can be improved to meet the owners needs/desires. BWW have ruined several M cars over the years buy yielding to the executive class and making soft, luxury based M cars, often carrying serious reliability issues and the OG M2 was the first real M car in quite some time, BWM had actually delivered a proper M car with good reliability in their OG M2. With the M2 Comp/CS, BMW have once again left the great recipe of a true M car like the OG M2 track/driver focused car, in favour of a more luxurious ethos of a comfortable fast-road car that's 'good' when used on a track, rather than a 'great' track car that's good when used on the road. Aside the fact that BMW already has fast road cars in the M-lite M140i, M235i & M240i models and one of these is indeed what I'd get if I actually wanted a fast-road BMW, but I don't.. What I want is a proper M car. The experienced drivers and purists out there know that the OG M2 with manual box and around 5k worth of personalised upgrades is THE way to go for a baby M car, they'll save around 15+k and have a true M car track monster that will MORE than hold its own against a M2 Comp/CS and they won't have to worry about their crank hub slipping and damaging the engine(!) If you have the OG M2, KEEP IT! You are already in the best M2 and unlike the others (especially with that crank hub issue!) It's going to be a future classic of when BMW actually got the M car recipe right.

The pops and bangs on the tuned M2 sound sick. The M2 Comp looks better with those subtle changes. I’d save £20k and go for the tuned non-comp M2. There’s not a huge difference. Plus I love a manual gearbox.

Was trying 20-70 in my competition to compare it to a m260 mk8 fiesta ST! Consistently ran between 4.15-4.25 seconds. That said even a mountuned fiesta ran 5.67 so wouldn’t do bad on your leader board!

You didn’t run through the spec on them, the blue one had driving assistant pack, whereas the comp m2 had adaptive led’s, and when compared to the other it changed the look completely and made it more aggressive. Also, you said there was around 10k different if the car was not category, but when taking into consideration the automatic costs more and lower miles, and comp pack I’d say it’s worth it... how much was spent on the tunes on the blue m2 and was it a category when you initially brought it?? Could’ve explained a tiny bit more in the video I’m left curious but otherwise nice video

The real cheat code is to save even more money by getting a used m240i and getting it to 500hp with 3" down pipe, exhaust, air intake and a map.

3" downpipe definitely won't give you 500break.you'd need at least a 4inch and not to mention the high pressure fuel pump

You won’t get 500bhp with those mods, 460bhp at a push unless like other channels the car is climbing out of the rollers and showing 480-490bhp. You would also want an LSD as well.

I’d just get an m2 LCI with the icon head lights and it’s about 99 percent of the looks of the M2c. I don’t need that much power on the road but with that said bolt ons and ps2 turbo on the m2 lci og would be the best of both worlds and still come out a bit cheaper and faster than the m2c.

Surprised with the manual 0-60 time, was good. Could hear the bunny hopping I'm first. What you probably are feeling the most is the additional engine bracing, I did a retrofit in my OG and the front dampers actually start to work, the whole chassis works together front and back and flow over road deviations is much better. Steering is incrementally better too. Suspension is otherwise same between the cars though I'm getting Litchfield B16 tomorrow so will be interesting to see what that is like down a B road!

Great video matey ! I would love an M2C it's my dream car. But, saying that, my M140i is running at 455bhp/634nm and stands me at about £22,000 including the car and all the tuning lol, and it sounds bloody amazing. All the arguments over N55 & S55, I think the B58 is easily as good if not better than either.

@@MrCharlan1 So would I. I can't afford one though, as none crashed ones are all 30k+ with reasonable mileage. Hence my comment. For 22k I have a wild beast, which is a bit wobbly in corners compared to an M2, although I could spend 2 grand on Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs and have a much closer (to a real M car) handling experience, and it would still be under 25k ....
