This is so much better than the Finding Nemo subs at Disneyland USA. I love the front view so oppose to the side view

probably a lot cheaper to maintain than Finding Nemo subs or original 20k Leagues at WDW.... show building is all dry and doesn't have to be drained to maintain, and the vehicles are much smaller and easier to service than big subs....

@@allthingsnerd.4484 And the only water to be found on the ride is in the windows of the sub. They blow bubbles into them to create the illusion of the vehicle being underwater. It's really convincing!

To be fair, the original Submarine Voyage and 20k both had more exciting elements than Finding Nemo ever did.

I rode this when I went to Tokyo on my honeymoon. It is such a great ride!!! And it really does feel like you’re under water. DisneySea is awesome

I love Tokyo DisneySEA!! And this ride is amazing! Rode it twice during my last trip there. The aesthetic and theming are on point. Now that I think about it, this ride kinda has a mix of Jules Verne, BioShock and Doctor Who feels in it ;P

Using the dry-for-wet approach is very clever. I just wish the propeller on the back of the preceding submarine spun. It kind of takes you out of it. Legoland in Lakeland (I think) has a similar submarine ride except it's actually IN the water. Their propellers do spin, though I doubt that's the vehicles actual method of propulsion (I haven't been on it...only saw a video of it). In any case, with that one exception, I thought it was rather well done and a good solution to the problems the original ride had. That being said, I miss the original ride.

The difference between actually being under water--as in the old 20,000 Leagues attraction at Walt Disney World--and faking it as here, is stark. No doubt that this would be fun, but the old submarine rides were far more realistic.

Double paned glass with water in between each pane and air making bubbles to make it seem like you are underwater.

In the end the creatures push up our submarine at the end to help us(4:57), when you sit the other side you can see their shadow properly🤲💙

I’m visiting Tokyo Disneyland very soon and I’m really worried about the language barrier. I know in Florida there are headphones available that translate to different languages but we shall see how Tokyo does it! I can not speak or read a lick of Japanese! 😂

How much would it cost to build a ride like this on a smaller scale with a preshow and a highlydetailed showbuilding on this level of theming? Could anybody help me with this question Im creating a ride selection for a themepark for a college assignment and would love to include a ride like this one we have € 23.000.000 for the ride and the theming for a re investment and would love to fit something like this in, but I have no idea if it can be done with such a budget theming level is really important scale less, if the THRC can be atleast 1400 its good, but would love to know if anybody has an idea if that is a realistic budget for such a ride theming level atleast Efteling level and if possible Disney level
