I have moved but grew up fishing that river and those exact locks. Hooked the biggest pike of my life under that bridge on 15cm savage gear perch paddle tail but lost it 😢

One of my favourite places to target pike! But there's some good perch there too, tough to find them though. That's sad mate, when it's a big fish it hurts.

@zombiebitefishing wrasse need gullys etc and rocky areas with kelp , if you fish for wrasse prepare to lose gear lol as you need to be in amongst the rocks etc and weed

The one I was using with the jigheads was the Handing M1 5-18g, the other with the Bladed Jig was the Abu Garcia ProMax 15-45g

There's a lot of good lures on AliExpress, I have a few soft plastics that I use more than branded ones! Some good hardbaits too, but I normally try to pay a bit more for those, especially jerkbaits. Good luck with your new lures.

I used to sea fish a lot a couple of decades ago in Portugal, but never with lures, unfortunately. I tried a couple times here but the sea is about an hour away from me, and it's tough to know where to go 😕

@@zombiebitefishing Some really good lure fishing in Porto which I'm sure you know. Some people here travel a few hours to sea fish so one hour is good. My favorite beach is 45 minutes from my home and worth the travel. Same rules apply when beach fishing, look for features, signs of bait fish and birds feeding.
