20 Atari ST Soccer Games from 1989 to 1995

I started off with Kickoff2. Which was really good at the time.. Then I switched to Goal! Which was better in the sense that the sprites were bigger.. Though it was buggy. Sensible soccer was really good too, but was more difficult as far as I can remember.

To be fair, those 3D games are quite impressive. Personally I player a lot of ST footie games, but my favourite is Sensi, there's no real challenger in terms of gameplay.

C'est une bonne sélection et dans ton classement y a pas les pires. J'en ai eu des moches. Après suivant les jeux y a du bon et du moins bon dans chacun. Pour ma part j'ai commencé avec une compilation foot avec trois jeux dont kick off. J'y ai passé des heures. En fait quand on prenait la Russie on se retrouvait avec des joueurs plus rapides. Et le jeu avait un bug. Il suffisait de lobber le gardien pour marquer des buts. Parfois je finissais le match avec une bonne dizaine de buts au compteur. Après je suis passé au 2 et j'y ai passé un temps fou. J'ai découvert sensible sur le tard. Mais je n'ai pas accroché. J'ai toujours trouvé que le ballon collait moins au pieds que kick off. Par contre kick off (1 ou 2) c'est pauvre aussi bien graphiquement qu'au niveau sonore. Certains jeux de ton classement possèdent des graphismes plus beaux et une vraie ambiance sonore. Les chants des supporters par exemple, c'est genial. Par contre ceux qui balancent une musique en soundchip des qu'il y a un but, ça casse l'ambiance.

You must have extraordinary patience to willingly play some of those - Gazza 2 and the Codemasters Italia 90 game especially. I've not played Gazza 1 but that looked pretty dire too - what on earth were they thinking? Still, at least you'll have had fun with Kick Off, Goal and Sensi, the true classics.

Agree with you. :-) But if you can, try "European Champions", a STe only game, it s à good game I think.

@@Wasabim Must admit it does look good - currently working through the entire ST Format catalog taking a few games from each, I'm at issue 20 so I've got a way to go yet but I'll get there. I didn't get to play it at the time as I had a 520STFM.

Fab time watching this, 15 years old remember my Atari st best thing in the world. Turned 16 got a provisional driving license got a Suzuki TS 50x. BYEBYE Atari , hit the road.. LOL
