I’ve lived in Iowa most of my life. Many of the jobs are not in the towns listed, but in a neighboring city especially in the Des Moines area. Prepare for a commute. Overall, you’ll like the state.

Whomever wrote this is a real comedian. Ames. I had 2 uncles who taught at ISU, and Dad retired there. Taxes are sky high, decent homes are too. Sports tickets are extremely expensive, season tickets are ridiculous. The town goes absolutely dead in the summer when the students leave, and there is nothing to do. North Grand Mall is empty. Downtown is fairly nice. Watch where you buy or build, or rhey'll build student apartments-which are also expensive-on top of you. Urbandale. Stay out. It's getting rough. Really stay out of the Drake University area-high crime. Love old houses? Try around Grand Avenue. Stay out of Beaverdale-it floods. Live on the west side. Things to do, less crime, better schools. Pella. Stay out. Overun during Tulip Festival, and it's a closed community, with a very odd religion. If you're not Dutch, from there, or of the religiion, forget it. Careful of eastern lowa river towns-lots of drugs. Stay to the east and northeast over there. Western Iowa. Unless youre near Omaha, and can summer up north at Arnold's Park, forget it. Boring and ugly.

Dead on about Pella. Unless you're Dutch, you'll be treated liked an outcast, no matter how long you live there.

Interesting that they call Meredith a city. It's a business, Meredith Publishing, Better Homes and Gardens. Wonder where they got their information.

Came across this yesterday(ok, so I'm a slow youtuber). Sounds completely AI made and BS. This is city focused, not actual "places" to live in Iowa. Nothing against city living, but there are SO MANY more areas of Iowa that are beautiful and wonderful to live in. The majority of these are suburbs. The state has plenty more to offer than these areas. So might want to retitle it.

This video is obsessed with featuring small cities and neighborhoods of Des Moines, while deliberately ignoring Iowa's largest cities, such as Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Sioux City, Waterloo, etc.

What they call Johnson is actually Iowa City And Cornville is pretty and all But it's right off of I 80 interstate and it has a lot of crime And drugs.

Mount Vernon actually has An annual get together where they go outside and draw all over the building in the streets.

Try Cedar Falls! They have the College Hill Arts Festival, but keep to the east and northeast parts of the state. Prettiest part of the state, anyway.

If you’re a painter, The Fitch and Mainframe studios in Des Moines, CASA in Ames for pottery, Cedar Falls, Dubuque, Davenport, Perry. There are many, many independent artists all over Iowa without there being a specific Arts Community. We tend to live where housing and studio/workshop costs are lowest. I’m probably going to start giving pottery lessons in the coming year in my backyard workshop. There are Art Festivals all year round in Iowa, with the Des Moines Art Festival being the most well known.

Ditch the computer narration and hire a live voiceover artist. The machine reading is unusually bad. "Linden Heights" and "Salisbury Oaks" are neighborhoods in the Grand Avenue area of Des Moines. West Des Moines is the western part of Des Moines. It used to be called Valley Junction. The north-south street numbers duplicate some of those in Des Moines proper. In general, it's apparent that whoever put together this video knows little about Iowa locations and their relation to one another.

Water quality is getting steadily worse in Iowa, and our Republican legislators and Governor are hell-bent on destroying the public school system, child safety, and bodily autonomy for women.
