There have been other Afro-latinas in Miss Universe. She may have been the first Afro-latina to represent USA in Miss Universe, but definitely not the first Afro-Latina in MU.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, that's right. There have been Afro-Latina contestants in Miss Universe from different countries, but Alma Cooper was the first to represent USA on the stage.

Also, Ashley Callingbull was the first woman of Indigenous heritage to represent Canada at the competition (she is Cree)

Please, no more Latin countries for MU 2025. Better yet, to be fair, rotate holding future MU pageants in each continent alternately, ie, year 1 - Europe/Middle East, year 2 - Africa/Oceania, year 3 - Asia, year 4 - Americas, then back to the same rotation again.
