Oh My God! This will end in tears hahahaha, I hope you don"t have any bumps on the holland track man ! I really love the enthusiasm and any time someone gets in to fabricate up something themselves gets me excited. I'm reall interested to see how it holds up buddy :) Love your work!

LOL, bye bye back window. Somehow I think that steel is just a little too flexible. I think the coppers are going to love reading the engineering report for that mod :)

I have to agree with some of the other comments standing on it with 100 kilo is one thing but a shock to one small part of the window can result in it shattering, I would have gone for a second hand bike rack that goes into the Hayman Reese tow block at the back and modified it

I agree with concern for the glass. My solution would be to repeat what was done at the top with the metal below the glass. The placement is just what I'm looking for to copy on my Prius.

Thumb it is. I would drill two holes on the top side by side with 3 - 4 cm spacing to eliminate wobbling side to side a little. This two new threads are 8mm? And I would use 10mm rivnut into the existing hole which was much bigger. And I would use some soft rubber between tire and glass on both sides to make tire sit stiffer - something like mousepad but thicker or even double mousepad, but maybe with some metal sheet between layers to spread forces on the glass. (I hope I'm writting my essay in english)

I am genuinely interested in how robust the old wiper connection is when you take this out for a run. I am a little concerned about the flex strength of the seal through the rear window. As in, if it gets too stressed, could it shatter the rear screen? I love the Foresters. I took an '03, pulling a loaded trailer through some country that a 4WD enthusiast assured us we would never get through. I wish I had video of it. One thing I did learn is that they operate far more effectively at high revs. You can't be gentle with them when they're pulling a trailer up steep, rocky trails. Smash the clutch and go hard.

Gday Brad, apologies about the late reply. Your concern about the rear window is shared with me and many others haha. I've currently got it removed but I'm planning to do a real world testing video over corrugations etc. Thanks for taking the time to watch mate!
