Hi dear I love your channel, it’s fabulous! I used to have a tole painting business back in the day of the large craft fairs, 20 years ago. I have a tip for you. It’s about your brushes, it makes a huge difference. Don’t get paint up to the metal part of the brush, try to stay within 1/4 of the way away. When the paint works it’s way up rinse your brush and start again. Wash your brushes and then wash them again. You can get brush soap, but you can just use a bar of soap, brush the brush back and forth across the bar and you will see hidden paint come out. Then rinse the brush. Now the way to keep your brushes for years is shape the brush and pinch out the water then run the brush against the bar of soap after you rinse the bar off, you are loading the brush with soap, then reshape and let the brush dry with the soap in it. Next time you paint rinse the soap out of the brush and your good to go. You need to do this from the start of using your brushes there is no way to really repair a brush after you get paint in the metal part. It will make a huge difference in your control of the paint. I have never been this inspired. I have always loved Mackenzie Childs but never thought I could recreate that whimsical style until I watched your videos. I've been buying the plain white dinner plates at Dollar Tree to make MC plates. I also find it very relaxing to paint those black checks. I then top with 2 coats of Dura Clear and finish of with gold edging. Thank you so much for your inspiration! I love everything MacKenzie Child's!!

I've made cylindrical vases using Pringles containers with Courtly Check napkins and they fit perfectly. I used gold paint around the top. I use DT stones in the bottom for weight before adding foam and florals. I'm working on a MC pumpkin topiary with pumpkins from thrift stores. They are so much fun to make!

I know I am late to the party. I liked all of it. I really liked the fence outside. I never thought of anything like that. You have me crushing on M.C now too. In fact, I have a crock with a lid I'm about to finish up in M.C. I was on the website and I saw they were doing faceplates in the M.C. We've been remodeling our kitchen and I'm thinking about doing that to mine. But, since our colors are in brown's... I'm going to do it in the brown. Have always loved MacKenzie Childs - not in my budget either - love all the projects you shared. I'm looking at my "stuff" differently now! Considering painting my pine dining room set, table, chairs and hutch (inherited from Parents) like MacKenzie Childs furniture - or my take on it, been brewing in y head for a year or so - have to just do it once we get dining room finished - painting walls burgundy and trim and ceiling ivory .
