If you want more authentic open-hat, you can add a closing hat sample and set it to cut the open hat instead of using the envelope.

U made a great point with the whole square shape and the envelope thingy. Most people see that and think that trick only applied to kicks and 808s but its actually a great way for controlling any general simple sound (particularly percussion)

a thing I noticed while listening to drum breaks before chopping them is that tipically the “ghost notes” have way less high frequencies, because of the intrinsic nature of the drummer playing 2 notes quickly on the bass drum… so that’s why I turn down both the volume and the ModX in the controls, by default it is set to low pass, It’s extremely quick to do and makes the ghost note sound more natural!

Thank you. Your channel made me understand, that i still need to learn a lot, and i need to get back on learning new things. I was stuck thinking - my beats are grate but underrated. And in my head i was sure that i have the knowledge that i need to be a producer that can earn from beats. I know i was wrong and you are big part of my jurney to achive the next level of skills that i need to make my music more joyfull. Thank You again Mr. Navie D!

How did I not know about the advanced auto fill option?! Will be playing with that today after work for sure. I also love the Presets within the quantizer. I use the "Loose Feel" one a lot and bring up the velocity a little bit of the middle notes of the 3 in a row that play the same lower velocity. Gives it such a good bounce.
@redbunny9892 жыл бұрын
3:01 you can also do that by holding down shift and moving the mouse wheel, instead with the mouse wheel alone, you can change the velocity. You can also zoom verticaly by holding down the mouse wheel in the piano on the left, or moving freely without using the movement bars if hold not in the piano on the left "it works also in the playlist"

This is so helpful 2 me. I used fruit loops 15 years ago. Recently bought fl20, I'm using it 1x month now. Find it complicated. Mostly, I play pbass and am trying to set up a multitrack with vocals and midi drums in fl. This video has revealed many druming and fl tricks I never knew about. I'll be playing it on repeat for the week until I'm up to speed. And working through your other videos. Thanks

ngl, I would love a full tutorial on DnB. Especially on how to make minimal neurofunk drum patterns sound unique among other tips. Also, there is an actually good use for the 3xOsc synth...a reese bass. My tip for the 3xOsc reese bass is adjusting the course tuning to taste as well as the fine tuning. Also add distortion and/or bitcrushing, and maybe some reverb or delay and adjust those to taste as well. By the way, one of your previous videos helped me make a proper gqom drum pattern. I hope you explore Jersey/Bmore club as well.

😳🤯 I love always learning something new even after a decade and a half of producing… I do have a question, how can I successfully export individual sounds to send for mixing and mastering? I haven’t found out how and right now I’ve been muting sounds which takes forever…

Split by channel to split sounds then go to export options.... click export playlist option....every sound is exported as an individual stem

sorry Davie if it hurts you feelings but when using the step sequencer you can assign each channel(sampler, vst) to a CUT group and CUT BY group (find it in property channel tab, it says CUT and CUT BY) Meaning you don't have to tweak any envelope, one sound shutting off an other Ps : You will give me that crown sooner or later....Don't be sad or mad, I won't unsubscribe I kind of like you.
