I discovered the last tip when I was trying to recreate some of alchemist weird sounds And yeah It’s mostly with delay. If you have the primal tap plugin you can get real experimental with it.
@ChiefTakinawa2 жыл бұрын
It's funny you mention effect switching. I recently discovered that by accident messing with Valhalla Super Massive. Sometimes to make an intro to a track or a riser, I'll run it through there and rip the warp knob while recording. The results can be pretty dope.
@NavieD2 жыл бұрын
I love Super Massive. Cool tip!
@JacDilla2 жыл бұрын

you can also create that glitch effect by automating the time knob in fruity delay 3 or any other delay.

@SwiftDreamer2 жыл бұрын
Gems in this video! I will say you can also loop a one shot in the sampler by messing with the crossfade knob and the length knob, which is a better easier than the granulizer method IMO, though you get more interesting textures with fruity granulizer
@NavieD2 жыл бұрын
For sure. Looping is also possible in Edison as well

I’ve seen a decent amount of ur videos and this one stands out far above for the techniques. It’s rare to find any “tricks and techniques” that you haven’t seen or figured out after doing sound design n production for a while, but there are a few here I’ve never thought of and got me crazy psyched to do some work!

Really good tips especially with the effect switching. I use the crystallizer from sound toys and I'm always hearing cool effects when switching presets. When you brought up using the crossfade, I was wondering if crossfading main melody patterns or samples between each other would be useful.

Navie I just found your channel and appreciate your video. I got a drum tip for you (because I learn a lot and thought I'd trade). To make boom bap drums sound like out of an sp1200, speed the drums up times 12 or times 16 and export. Than import the speed up track and slow it down by 12 times to its original speed. This downs the quality but replicates the method beat makers had to use to get a large amount of information into a small machine. Took me years to figure this out, the sp1200 sound

guys something unrelated here; all yall with krk monitors, do you have a low volume hissing sound from your tweeters? is it just me or do monitor speakers do these naturally? i know its not a ground loop because i did not have inputs from the interface. @user-lt2rw5nr9s2 жыл бұрын
If there's a click at the beginning of the sound you can bring up the attack knob just a tiny bit at 1% and turn up the tension knob underneath it to 100%. I do that for 808s that have this problem, so it might work here.
