Great coverage man - really appreciating the vids lately!! I gotta say, the more I look at Scarlet & Violet base set, the more I like it. Like, no huge chase cards but the artwork is really solid throughout and the top 10 look to be in a $80 to $30 range. It'll never be the best S&V set but I'd say it's a really appealing and accessible set for folks chasing a full/master set at the current price point.

I bought my first ever booster box and it’s a preorder for temporal forces for $80 USD shipped and it’s awaiting at the post to be sent when it releases I’m happy with that price and I’m going to enjoy opening it !

Excellent. 5 Star tips! It's tough not buying vintage slabs right now, and spacing out spending for sealed and vintage. Sealed boxes always, ETBs only for specialty sets that don't have a booster box.

I actually just sold that obsidian flames Charizard in a PSA 10 for $250. There's more chase cards out there in scarlet, but the quality isn't as good as S&S, so there probably still won't be as high of a PSA population.

Two big reasons why ETBs are still good: 1. Look at your background, how many other people have a similar display or will one day want to set one up? 2. The value of a product will always be somehow proportional to the packs inside. If a booster box goes up to $1000, why wouldn't an ETB with a smaller amount of the same contents go up similarly? Bonus reason: Lower price point, a lot of people can't afford an Evolving Skies booster box, but an ETB is within reach (and displays better).

I agree with your points man. I guess we can't expect them to perform how they performed in the past, though. Look at the phantom forces ETB that sold the other day on ebay for more than a booster box. I'm a bigger advocate for booster boxes over ETBs now.

It's also a value/space issue as well. They take up more space and with less packs, hold less value than a booster box, which takes up less space. In addition to the boosters being more liquid than ETBs. Although the one thing they do offer as box prices tick up very high, is that it's easier to be able to afford an ETB than a booster. But high value boosters will probably always have some demand if people like them that much.

The only way I see ETB being worth while is if a booster box is absurdly high ti the point almost no one can afford it. For example if evolving skies gets to 10k a box in 10-15 years ETB would be a good option for people who want to collect the set but can’t afford a whole booster box. If a booster box price doesn’t go up tons I don’t see ETB being valuable in the future

Also with grading there is no point sending it unless you are pretty confident it will get a 10. There are so many cards graded now that a 9 seems to be getting the same price as a nm raw card

21. If you cant stop opening your product, hide it! Wrap it in bubble wrap, tape it up, and then put it in black totes out of sight. Cant tell you how many people ive talked to that told me they bought some pieces for their collection to only have them tell me a week later they didnt get anything chase cards out of that “collection” piece.
