James Baldwin and Bayard Rustin is true. Rustin was excluded from speaking at the March on Washington because of his sexuality even though he was a key figure during the Civil Rights Movement and a key organizer of the March on Washington. His exclusion is explained at the Civil Rights Museum in Atlanta. Alvin Ailey is true. Ma Rainey is true. E. Lynn Harris is true. But why does it matter what their chosen sexuality lifestyle was. They are all credited with magnificent literary works and political and humanitarian reforms. Even if they all were your everyday coworker or neighbor, what does it matter how they lived their personal lives.
