Hey man love your channel but I have a question , I know that Finasteride takes at least 3 months to show results but should the hairloss get stabilised after first taking it ? Or is it possible to continue to thin at first and then stabilise ? Because I had been taking Finasteride for 2 months and the thinning isn't particularly stopping it might be slowing it down though I'm not sure , or is it just not strong enough for me ?

I'm 53yrs old. I started shedding hair when I was 21. It shook my world. I'm very thin on top. I've kept baby vellis hairs throughout my scalp for years due to on and off treatment over the year's. Now I'm using a dr pen micro needle set at 1.5mm. I bought loticane and apply to my scalp to numb as much as possible. I needle entire scalp til it's slightly bleeding. First I use alcohol on cotton pads to clean scalp of oils then needle. I wipe treated scalp again afterwards with alcohol again. 10-15 minutes later I apply minoxidil on scalp. About 4-5 hours later I apply coconut cooking grease. It's in a plastic container bought from Sam's. Just a finger dipped in and rubbed on scalp for moisturizer. Coconut organic oils are great on dry scalp from using alcohol to cleanse scalp. I have a laser comb and laser devise to help regenerate regrowth 3-4 times weekly. I also use a high frequency wand that emits a mild stimulating shock to scalp. Google high frequency scalp stimulation. I started finasteride a couple days ago. 3 months supply using goodrx pharmacy card cost me 89.00. 3 months!! I take saw palmetto and biotin also daily. Yes I'm hitting male pattern baldness hard. I see alot of white vellus hairs coming through. Being I've been balding for over 35yrs. I don't expect a miracle. I'm confident in who I am. I look at all the cripple people in the world. Children born with no limbs. Cancer patients. I'm blessed beyond blessed. But, if I can get half of what I lost. I'd be thrilled. If I can be of help. Email me.

@@benchabanehocine7809 it means imagining something that doesn’t exist, it’s all in your head. I lot of people that think that they have sides when using finasteride are having a nocebo effect. They already thought that they will get sides before even starting finasteride. The mind if pretty powerful, only about 2%-5% of finasteride users actually get severe sides effects, most are just having a nocebo effect.
@benchabanehocine78094 жыл бұрын
@@kingsultantv8332 thank u. By the way, is dudastride safer than fin? Again, thank u
@kingsultantv83324 жыл бұрын
@@benchabanehocine7809it’s safe for the most part , but it’s side effects profile is higher than finasteride . I think there’s a 10%-15% chance you will get sides. I will advise that you should try finasteride for a year first to see if it works, if it works then no need to use dutasteride. If the finasteride isn’t as affective then you can switch in a year time to dutasteride. Don’t use it every day though. Use the dutasteride 3x a week for the first 5months then if you don’t have side effects you can then use it every day. Dutasteride blocks 90% of your DHT while finasteride blocks 70%. But for most people dustasteride isn’t needed, finasteride should be able to do the job.

Had early mild hair loss, still NH-1. I got on it, 2 months later my hair is growing like a weed again. Crown is almost completely covered again. Scared me for a while due to the massive sudden shedding that I had, shedding 150-200 hairs a day for 3 weeks. Then it stopped and regrew massively
@juan-devivero8774 жыл бұрын
I've been applying a 0.5% topical finasteride and 3% minoxidil solution to my scalp twice a day for 4 months and mirconeedling for 1 and a half . I was shedding about 20+ hairs when shampooing ( I take a shower every morning) and many throughout the day before using it. Most of these hairs were small hairs (3cm or less) even though the hair on the top of my head is quite long. I also have some recession of my temples, my hairline itself has not gone back so much but the temples are miniaturised. (In general my hairloss is not that bad I'd say I'm a Norwood 2). Now after 4 months I have seen no improvement and I'm shedding the same amount of hairs if not more. (This morning I counted 30 more or less.) I have now started oral finasteride (1.25 mg per day). I'm 20 years old and I started noticing my hair loss at 18. I have a good bunch of before and after pictures I've taken over this time. And id say my hairline has receded about 1cm over this time period. Any thoughts on this?
@RegensDominor3 жыл бұрын
@@pod7062 It's false to say that oral finasteride is flat out better than topical. Topical finasteride is at least as effective as the oral version which studies have shown. It's all about lowering the level of DHT present in the scalp. By applying finasteride directly to the treatment area more DHT is suppressed compared to systemic suppression. Topical finasteride can also be combined with minoxidil which is an added bonus.
@pod70623 жыл бұрын
@@RegensDominor Hey. Agree, oral fin is not “flat out better” - if you read my comment I did not say that, although understand is could be taken this way. Do you happen to have the references to the studies you mention? Would be interesting to see as I’ve not seen any that state topicals are better. However, I do believe oral fin is superior at moment but willing to change my mind. Application of topical is an issue in my opinion, consistency of placement on the same areas, incongruent absorption to the skin and less convenient hence more often missing days etc. Plus most people’s hair loss will to some extent effect all hair on the head, I.e the sides and back will decrease in density with miniaturisation occurring which, unless you are covering your entire head with topical will not prevent. Pills are easy to pop. I understand both lower DHT. I agree minoxidil can be combined for greater efficacy. I’ve updated my meds since my original reply. 1mg oral fin, 0.65mg oral minox both daily and 0.25 mg dutasteride once weekly. What’s your protocol?

Great series of videos about hair loss meds Matt. The high resolution photos are a great resource to evaluate the results. I wish the styling & length of before & after hair was identical in every photo but I realize in the real world that's not always easy to capture and a some of the photos do show that apples to apples type of comparison. I'm tempted to get back on Finasteride but I have had a lot of body hair transplanted to my scalp. I'm concerned the Finasteride will limit the growth of that because I heard body hair actually benefits from DHT. Anyone noticed Finasteride reducing your body hair? I am also taking oral minoxidil 5 mg daily so that might counteract that effect if any.
@letsgethair4 жыл бұрын
Thanks J. I haven't found any issues with Finasteride on my body/beard hair growth. It's still not known how DHT plays a role in body hair development once it has already fully matured. I believe it is crucial in the early stages of body hair follicles formation though

The pharmacy mistakenly gave me BOTH the 5mg pills AND the 1mg pills, so I had to call the doctor's office to cancel the 5mg prescription, but it turned out that the 5mg dose was covered by insurance while the 1mg dose was $15 a bottle so I had call the doctor's office again to reinstate the 5mg and cancel the 1mg prescription. Now I cut the 5mg pills in half with a knife and take one half pill on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for a total of 7.5mg per week. how are ur side effects? i heard they can be permanent im still thinking about start taking it
@FennessyMusic3 жыл бұрын
@@refugioflores2226 I haven't had any so far thankfully. At this stage I have noticed my shedding has actually stopped (sure I can still pull a clump of hair from my head if I want to) but the level of shedding I'm used to has ceased which is quite incredible.

@@FennessyMusic im thinking on do 2mg a week for maybe a month and see but i really dont like playing with hormones after watching some reviews. its better to have a blood test and see how the testo and estrogen and all that levels before lower some of it . keep updating good luck
@FennessyMusic3 жыл бұрын
@@refugioflores2226 I think 2mg per day is not needed. Ive seen some experts say that actually 1-1.5mg just 3 times per week is enough! Yeah getting the T levels tested would be a good shout. See how you get on but so far so good for me @1.25mg per day 🤓
@refugioflores22263 жыл бұрын
@@FennessyMusic no per day per week .. some doctors say its more than enough for the hair and less saide effects 1mg a day is too much if you dont know ur levels . aight man

Did they also use minoxidil? Because if they did, these results don't mean anything.

I used propecia for 8 months and it worked, I then changed to generic finasteride(accord) and it fell out.....propecia are far superior in my opinion 🙂

Thanks. Have often worried if all Finasteride brands were made equal

@@The_Voice_of_Reason_is_here stick to propecia there well worth the extra money, hence why they haven't lowered the price at all since all these generic brands have now come out, propecia has other active ingredients in that the generic one's can't copy. Propecia original and best🙂👍

@Prizzy bull I own both and they both contain finasteride, but on top of that they have other different ingredients in, do your homework and visit Mercks website 🙄

@@doggerproductions Assuming you're back on Propecia have you managed to recover any lost gains?
@doggerproductions4 жыл бұрын
@@The_Voice_of_Reason_is_here yes, its coming back, been back on 4 months and would never go back to generic ones, only went on the generic ones as you could get 3 months worth for the price of 1 months propecia....bad mistake, I only go to reputable pharmacies on high street as I don't trust online chemists as theres loads of fake propecia on the net. And there's a boat load of bad reviews about a number of the generic brands fanistaride all over the internet, propecia original and best simple🙂👍
