One of the features you’d think GoodNotes would have is the ability to give different covers to folders.

You can edit the folder covers. Go to the top of the page that shows all folders and documents, then hit the settings symbol. After hit notebook templates, choose either the paper or cover (whichever you choose to add too). Then scroll to the end and hit the plus button to upload the files of paper (for default paper) or pictures for the cover photos. Hit save and next time you create a new folder you should be able to choose your recently uploaded picture or paper styles for use! Hope this helps!

I also learned some useful new tricks! Thank you! One more I really find helpful is the options in the lasso menu! For example turning off elements/pictures! Then, when you lasso text it doesn't also grab the underlying picture. Since good notes does not have real layers, I use this for green screen as a green picture in the background and text on front that I can move... 😃

Hey, your videos are very helpful. I did tip 4 on my iPad at the same time as the video, unfortunately I can only write either with the pencil or using the keyboard. The combination you show in the video doesn't work for me. Could this be because I'm using Goodnotes 6 and/or have you changed any settings on your iPad or in Goodnotes? is it possible to add a note to a specific word inside a document? Like, when I'm reading in a foreign language, I want to add the translation to a specific word, so that I can check faster.
@emilyreardon2019 Жыл бұрын
Hi! I know you commented this a while ago, so you might have already figured this out but I wanted to comment just in case! If you are reading a file you imported into Goodnotes, you should be able to highlight a word and click the add comment button. On a handwritten document or one created in Goodnotes, you can't add a comment to a specific element but you can add one near it. All you have to do is long-press where you want to add the comment and there should be an add comment button! These will then show up as little numbers on your document and if you click on them you can see what you wrote before. I hope this helped :)

Great video overall but a few things to keep in mind if using the text tool the auto advance function does not work . Also no need to open the photos app separately like shown in video. Just click on the import photo function to activate then in document. Hold to edit , then pick crop which opens the freehand tool or rectangle. Took me a few tries to figure it out. This part of the video is the weakest part. Hope this helps .

When I read a book and come across a quote I like, I usually write in separate blank page in goodnotes so that I can recall that line or comment later.
