This is our second video in a series featuring tries scored by the Springboks against England. In the early 2000's England were dominating world rugby in the lead up to their win at the 2003 Rugby World Cup, but things soon changed. The Springboks started to dominate against them and scored some fantastic tries. Bryan Habana features 6 times in this list of 20, so sit back and enjoy!
Thanks for watching!

2 things, Bryan Habana was an scoring machine, just incredible. The other is seeing the late and great Joost van der Westhuizen in his prime. What a player. Rest In Peace.

No Surprises the majority of these came in the mid to late 00's when the South Africans were the best team in the world and we were, well pitiful to be honest. What a Springbok team the '07 mob was though, put us to the sword 4 times in 1 year with 3 of the tests winning by more than 30 points. Class act.

@@Deontjie hey hey now let's not get too hasty, Kolbe has a young Springboks career and Habana has done a lot in his career to discredit. He used his speed properly.
@Deontjie
@Deontjie 4 жыл бұрын
@@HenryDube72 The difference is Habana was only fast. 90 % of his tries was the last handover to an open wing to just go and score. Kolbe is also fast. But he also has a wicked sidestep. Then he has plenty of strength in every part of his body. And he can tackle as well. There was a lot of hype about Habana, but I still think he was not even the best South African wing in his hay day. But Kolbe is world class.
@HenryDube72
@HenryDube72 4 жыл бұрын
@@Deontjie personally I feel he's the best Springbok winger of all time one of the all time best if not the best along Jonah Lomu. Both Habana and Kolbe have their unique skill sets that separate them and they are using them to the fullest, the former is quicker, can also kick in attack and the later can step. I also believe the Springboks played conservative rugby in some instances, had we been consistently expansive like the All Blacks Habana would've probably scored more tries.
@Deontjie
@Deontjie 4 жыл бұрын
@@HenryDube72 Lets agree to disagree. Most of Habana's tries was made by others. While Kolbe can get a ball in a defensive position, from standstill, and then create magic. Go and search for great tries. There are plenty of Habana's tries. There you will see a how his tries was made for him. He also relied a lot on interception tries. Which is always spectacular. But if you miss, there is no ways you can defend the man you are supposed to mark.

i just wish his coaches could have learnt to use his skill and size better. He should have been used to attack in the wider channels, and not so close to the rucks... I am sure he would have added a few more tries then... Also, he was not that good at defense... but nonetheless, he scored many awesome tries.

@tokiwartooth5752 4 жыл бұрын
@@hencoswart6614 Agreed. Sometimes he was nigh on useless as 1st or 2nd receiver. I don't know why they used him in close quarters so often. Spies had to be at speed to work the little bit of magic he had. I must say this, though. While we rarely saw it, the bloke had a solid boot on him. Rather accurate, too.

Johan, I don't understand most of your comment, because its written so badly. But I think what Gerhard Jacobsz is saying, is that Ashwin Willemse was a bit overrated....and one can expect people to note these kinds of things, as it is a backlash, in response to all those people who are saying things such as "Ashwin Willemse won the World Cup" & "Ashwin Willemse was player of the year" etc etc. Fact is, SO many people took Willemse's side, after the Supersport incident, as regarded him as a hero, while they also villainized Nick Mallet & Naas Botha....this despite the fact that we still don't know exactly what the 'tiff' was about. All we know, is that Mallet and Willemse didn't get along, and Willemse may or may not have been an unprofessional presenter/pundit. But everyone was quick to label the incident as racist, and many were calling for Mallet and Botha to be fired. This is the world we live in, where you are guilty of something, as long as someone has accused you of it.
