Just brought my 20x30 home and just started seasoning it and it is amazing. The temperature is so easy to dial in it's not even funny. Game changer for sure.

Great looking smoker! Only flaw I see is, it needs the drip guard rail on the inside of the door, like all the 24" models. That water running down the door, if you do decide to put water in the bottom of it, will probably ruin that gasket tape? Hot water soaking into a self adhesive felt gasket isn't going to end well, very quickly. If that were remedied, that would be about as perfect as a patio model w/o tuning plates, can get.

I just got my gently used 20x42, and after the first cook, I couldn't be more impressed. You have made a FINE cooking machine. I noticed in the video you said that this model doesn't require the tuning plates. Mine did not come with them; however, I have noticed others with the same model using them. Was this a recent omission? I'm only curious. I can't imagine needing them based on the consistent temperatures I had the other day smoking the "trisket"
@lonestargrillz Жыл бұрын
Glad you like it. No tuning plates on this model. The old round 20'' pipe pits had them.

Do have a grill grate brush that will clean these expanded grill grates? So the grates are easy to clean. Especially since they're expanded metal ??? A normal wire / wooden cleaning brush( that U find @ Wal-Mart , Lowe's etc?) doesn't seem safe enough to clean them & would cause possible damage to the food people eating stuck brissels from the brushes ?

I been doing my shopping/homework on offsets and am leaning towards the LSG 20x36. Wife and driving out this wknd to Willis and take a closer look. So Chris, the fire/charcoal grate come with the 20x36 offsets or is it an ad-on?thanks,

What is the significant difference between these and the pipe smokers. And are you planning on opting for a 1/2" box on these in the future.
@lonestargrillz5 жыл бұрын
The difference between the new design and the old 20'' pipe style is that the new ones are easier to maintain temp, more efficient, better draft control, and way more capacity compared to the pipe style.

Question for Lone Star Grillz or any of their owners.....ever use this beauty for grilling steaks, burgers, brats, and the like or is it strictly a smoker?
@lonestargrillz5 жыл бұрын
You can grill directly on the fire box grill grate and if you need more grilling space we sell a "main chamber grill grate" accessory that turns the whole main chamber into a grill.

"1/2" fire grate, unheard of in the industry, standard with all of our cookers, 1" angle on our slide out cooking racks..." what's going on guys, those are some items that encourage folks to want invest in a lifetime smoker....? Been saving for my 24 × 36 vertical, am I going to have save more to get the same qualities that drove me to you in the first place? I realize it's just a 16th, but whats next, going to higher gauges on the cooking chambers and fireboxes, hoping people think a higher number is a good thing ?

I love your stuff, Chris (I even mentioned it in the video I just uploaded). I can appreciate most of the changes you've made (I like the Jambo style heat distribution you've got going and much more space), but I do have some concerns about the new door design. I've had grills with internal flanging/gasket (in fact, it was a Jambo backyard now that i think about it) and while it did fine keeping the smoke in, they tend to also let rain in. Have you tested that to make sure it's not an issue? Thanks.
@joeees77906 жыл бұрын
Living in Northern California rain intrusion and thick fog are two issues I constantly have to deal with. Im curious how this would hold up under either (and make a video showing the Flame Zone on your Mak ;) )
@lonestargrillz6 жыл бұрын
Your correct, our pit has a inset door just like a jambo and our smokers fire box enters at the top just like theirs but thats were the similarities stop. Our pit has a double baffle that not only directs heat up and over food but it then draws it back across the bottom hence the term "Top Down Cross Flow". Our doors are gasketed to hold heat and smoke in but just as much keep mother nature out. Now nothing is 100% water proof but I dont find any more issues with this design compared to our other exterior flanged doors.
