All are great ports but I wouldn’t recommend getting most of them physically because they’re not complete on cart and require sizable downloads. All the 1st & 2nd party games are complete on cart but your mileage may vary on the 3rd party games.

If you'll get Final Fantasy X / X-2, make sure it's the Asian or Japan version. Both games are in the same cartridge. Why they opted to shorthand the West version by making X-2 a DLC is beyond me.

It’s an ok port. A lot of graphic detail missing and it can chug to a crawl at times. The framerate is horrible and the graphics are blurry and muddy. The core game is there but it’s not a good port just ok. Amazing it was even possible to port over.

@@dewinter1411 disagree. Borderlands is basically Fallout in space. Very similar. Both set in rustic dystopian worlds. Both quest based level up to win games. Both have comedy elements. I agree they arnt exactly the same but they deffo feel similar in general game conventions. Storywise and gameplay wise.

Sniper Elite series, the spin off Zombie Army series, and the other third person shooter by Rebellion named Strange Brigade; Mudrunner and Snowrunner; Dying Light; Maneater; World War Z; Assassin's Creed 4;... These are all full 3d impressive ports of awesome games, and great to have on a handheld, and often overlooked even on "great port" lists.

@@Switchbored the great thing about Nintendo systems to me is that they often get some of the best games of previous generations with some welcome upgrades and all dlc, some very special exclusives, and Nintendo games of course, all combined on one system. And the system itself always has some unique features as well. And living off the grid, growing up with handhelds and mostly no tv, the Switch and 3ds and a handheld emulator are my only consoles I kept from my massive collection from my first Game Boy until I stopped collecting like crazy and went off grid. Meaning I also don't follow the newest releases as closely as I used to anymore, so lists like these are always appreciated 😄

Xenoblade Chronicles DE isn’t a port. It’s a full from the ground up remake.

@@johnwilder3169 erm...no....no it isnt lol it's a remastered port of the wii game. Its even labelled as such on Nintendos website. Remakes and Remasters are totally different things. Remasters are usually recycled upscaled ports, often with new content. Examples - Luigis mansion 2 HD, Metal Gear Solid Master Collection, Donkey Kong Country Returns HD. Remakes are entirely new games that are based on original source material and built from the ground up. Examples : Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green, Resident Evil 4 (2023), Final Fantasy VII Remake Heres the wikipedia extract for Xenoblade Chronicle DE. Xenoblade chronicles: Definitive Edition An expanded remaster of the original game, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition, was announced in September 2019 during a Nintendo Direct presentation.

I like the voice, pace and the quantity of games (20). Those "top 10" videos feel too short to me. I also like that you added game footage. Where I think the video falls short compared to the rest is on the description of the games. For example, repeating 4 times that "everyone knows what Skyrim is". Totally agree! Great video and perfect for people just getting into the Switch, but it may be confusing for people who don’t know what Fallout, Skyrim or even Zelda is. Might be worth scripting descriptions of games in the future, with generic descriptions (“action adventure with plenty of exploration, beautiful visuals, a gripping story and characters you grow to love” for example) and then your personal thoughts after that. I really like the loose, more conversational feel of your videos, keep it up! 😊

I think for all the ports that are ported from current platforms I would say only play them on Switch if you haven't got anything else to play them on. I don't have any other current consoles myself. But I do have a good gaming PC and even a handheld PC (specifically a Legion Go). And after I got that I've basically stopped playing anything on Switch that I can play on the Legion Go. There is just a massive difference between playing at 60 FPS and playing at 30. I did end up getting Borderlands on Switch before getting my Legion Go to play it on the go. But now that I have the Legion Go I really don't see myself ever going back to the Switch for that game.

Motion controls for Skyward Sword were actually not improved. The Wii version is still definitive when it comes to motion controls. However, Switch version does everything else better.

Resident evil series attention in some collections not all games are on the cartridge. Newer releases are to be avoided. They are cloud versions. So check carefully before you buy any of those. I would say generally not recommended (at least not for collecting). Bioshock collection on switch - avoid the physical version. It is one of those where only small portion is on the cartridge. Also to be avoided (for physical games collectors): Assassins creed Ezio collection Most of Megaman games collections Spyro trilogy Metal gear solid volume 1 collection Final Fantasy (those that are already mentioned by others). Otherwise always check what is in that switch version. Star Wars collection - you have to download KOTOR 1 and 2. So you might maybe grab 2 separate 2 packs that go on sale frequently and check for the rest of the games separately. Nicklodeon cart racing collection rerelease. Again, just the first game on the cartridge. so when getting that one check carefuly what is on the game artwork (if there is download required at the bottom, so than it is that bad re-release) Trine collection 1-4, because it is just trine 4 and rest of them are code in the box. But there exist separate trine 1-3 release which is way better to grab. Borderlands games - most of the game data is again missing. Batman trilogy - hard no. One of the games has big frame rate issues. Get is on PC for way cheaper or just get those playable games. And yes as well most game data is again missing on the cartridge. If you want those playable ones, buy them separately. And GTA trilogy also a hard no. They are now in better shape, but as usual most of the game data is missing. So this guide it seems to be mostly about games to avoid at least if you are into physical collecting and some of those "recommended" games even have game playing issues.

They improved the games controls and pushed the games Watercolour filter into a beautiful HD filter that accented the games art style. No it's not the most demanding game on switch but it is amazing the game looks so nice running at 60fps when the Wii version had to take shortcuts to run in the first place.
