@@AJ-kt5zo hey I’m close to 50 and I have the 3 part fatal attractions storyline in my possession so as far as Professor X’s explanation of how he was crippled I’m using that as a reference. Now as far as Nightcrawler goes admittedly I just remember reading that out of a Wizard magazine that I have lying around somewhere. But I know how the comics go nowadays change up the storyline to appeal to a new audience. Anyhoo ☮️

Despite Kurt's origin storyline was originally the offspring of Mystique and Destiny; it has only recently Ben ret-conned by current Marvel leadership. Marvel felt that it was to forward and was banned by Marvel's then chief editor. The agreed origin was that Azazel, a teleporting Demon from the realm of Mephisto; was actually the father with Mystique. I actually think that origin is actually the BETTER explanation; because it explains Nightcrawler's ability to teleport, his appearance, and even why he produces a bamf of smoke smelling of sulfur and brimstone as he phases through the realm of Mephisto every time he teleports.

Yeah but Azazel was introduced almost 30 years after Nightcrawler, so he was absolutely a retcon too. Mystique used Azazel's form/dna when she was with Destiny, hence Kurt's appearance, but making Kurt the LITERAL son of a devil really undermines his internal struggle. IMO The most mutant with the most faith despite looking like a devil is a GREAT backstory. I think it's a little cheapened when he's ACTUALLY just a devil and all the people who hated him growing up were right about him :(
