Just a helpful hint to anyone. If you are using a rotisserie chicken for another recipe, pull the meat off when you get home and it’s still warm. It’s so much easier than if cold.

Just a hint from a chef friend take your bones for your bone broth and put them in the oven for about 15 minutes to brown it adds so much depth to the broth. Also onion skins that normally you takeoff and throw away can be added into the broth because it’s gonna be strained and they’re very flavorful

A corn salad is a good way to make a meal spread. One can of whole kernel corn drained. Add a little mayo and a pickle relish sweet or dill. Diced onion and peppers and tomato fresh whole diced. Season to taste. Similar to a potato salad. We love it! Fresh cold salad for any meal.

Wow!! I can't get over how much I'm learning and how much I appreciate these budget meals. I mean I loved every meal you shared in this video. It's so very helpful! I am going to try and be more creative with my meals. And, learn to work with what I have in my pantry too, instead of running out and buying more groceries every time I want to make something. I esp want to try the chicken and dumpling and the potato soups, both of which sound and look DEEE-LICIOUS and make so much so there will be plenty of left overs for lunch and/or dinner the next day or two. The big plus is your FUN Spirit. I'm really enjoying your channel. Thanks loads for sharing. Arlene

@baylaurel20172 жыл бұрын
@@allthingsmandy It is very easy and you can use whatever spices you want: Preheat oven to 425. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or non-stick foil. Gently toss the peelings with the olive oil. Place in a single layer on the baking sheet, and sprinkle with salt.Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or so, watching carefully through the door to make sure they don’t get too brown. Remove when they are crispy and serve at once. This is such a great way to use the peels and not have food waste!

I would of went 35$ substituted cans of 2 walmart diced tomatoes with herb choices, and 9 diced potatoes in cans. Got a leaf of bread or Italian bread, or 3 loaf rolls of dough from the freezer section, added milk half gal and tiny sour cream. And 1 fruit choice or juice. And added a salad dressing to the bill. And added rice to the bill. Not sure of the chicken condensed soup. I'm thinking the broth could of been used with a rue.

You don't need to soak beans anymore. Rinse them and pick out any little rocks. Then put in a big pot and cover with 2+ inches of water. Add a splash of oil and bring to a boil, watching closely so it doesn't boil over. Then shut them off, cover with a towel and let sit on the burner for an hour. Rinse a second time, put back in pan, add another splash of oil and water. Then bring to a boil again, turn off, cover with a towel, and let them sit another hour. Rinse again and they are ready for your recipe. This takes very little electricity or gas to cook the beans. Add salt and tomatoes only after they are cooked or they will stay hard.
