Back when I was in the Army in the mid 80's, we used the word "sham" instead of "skate". Calling someone a "sham artist" was the highest compliment you could give a lower enlisted soldier. The art of "shamming" could only be perfected by the amount of labor invested in getting out of actually doing the work. My favorite "sham" move was carrying a stack of papers in the company area and walking at a fast pace usually in the general direction of battalion HQ, while giving the impression that you're carrying time sensitive documents that are eyes-only for the S-1 or S-2 office. As you approach the battalion area, you then veer off towards the unit parking lot where you've earlier strategically parked your POV in the farthest back row. After scanning the parking lot and ensuring no overly vigilant NCO's are in the area, you then slide in the drivers seat for a well deserved 30 minute power nap.

Nice video dude. Thinking to apply for the army again, I'm from London UK, however won't be going to soon, but, I still want to do things that are actively related... so my question to you is, what kind of clubs or events would you reccomend me to go join up with and see to get the most out of all the free time I have now I have all the time? Like what kind of places can 'civies go to' in order to replicate that feeling of being In the forces 👀 Liked and subbed so please give a reply if you can, maybe even do a video on it?! Must be a wanted topic haha

@@BryanFerra Thanks for the reply dude, and you're welcome. Can also literally be anything dude, as long as you think that it would look really sweet on paper when applying for the army. It's cool you're asking what I meant, like, going back to my idea for you like a topic to talk about, from your insight, what would be the best civilian jobs to take on in terms of their transferability in skills and usefulness? Some that came to mind for me are jobs like Adventure Club Coordinator or Airsoft Instructor. Bet you could learn a thing or two from more of the outside sources used in the Army, could be a fun topic... But yeah, what's your take on that dude?

Article 15 isn't exactly like getting a ticket. It does end up in your SRB as kind of an addendum but isn't paid much attention to unless you have several for the same offense. Even though it isn't a Court you can lose rank and pay and be restricted to the base for up to 90 days. Gonna go out on limb here say I know what I'm talking about here. "Corporal, you need to put zippers on those stripes because you keep losing them." "How did you know I was drinking and driving my car? ... Because you are awake and off duty." I retired as a First Sergeant, came real close to getting my ass cashierd before I made Sergeant though. Article 15 is a pain in the ass but probably saved my career. Not probably, it did.

How does the military read news like tmz differently than civilians? What are the hidden messages?

Alpha Centauri ??? There are no hidden messages besides the media is stupid. The military doesn’t have time for that.
@alphacentauri2921
@alphacentauri2921 4 жыл бұрын
Bryan Ferra Fair enough, there’s a person in my apartments that’s retired Army and was telling me that he was going to get the news from tmz and I was shocked that he’d use a news source like that instead of more credible independent journalists outside of the MSM. He then said that he reads it differently than a civilian would and that there are messages underneath what is being said directly that military personnel are trained to see. I’ve never heard of this before. He used the tabloids from the movie MIB as an example. I had no other way to verify this so I was asking around to see what people said. I’ve known quite a few current and ex military including my dad as well as a handful of (3)Rangers and (1)SEALs and this was the first time hearing something like this. The statement did seem far-fetched.
