Interestingly, some of the small bowls I have made from scrap size pieces have been my favorites. Spalted wood can be a pain to work with, but rewarding to do so. Very nice results on your small treasure turning! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 P.S. still love the rain on the roof.

Hello Andy I hear you've got the rain just like us here in Scotland 😂😂. The wood is lovely it's got spalting and nice grain it may be pluky but it is awesome. Nice job Andy! Spalted wood is a pain to work with sometimes, but is so pretty in the end! Its been rainy here too. Over 2" has fallen in the past week. But we have been in a drought, so, its needed. 😎❤✌

@@TController Hi Joe... Spalting is caused when fungus starts to grow inside the wood, usually when it is cut down and wet.. It is the start of the rotting process and the wood gets soft .. this is called "punky" .. why, I dont know...
