Hey buddy thats some impressive work considering the time crunch especially. And more so that it's raw material. Great work. And thanks for the shout out.

I use to go up to Ga.and get a couple 5 gallon buckets of flint I think it is some of the best. Haven’t been up there for a while flint knapping is a great hobbie

Yeah its crazy I hinted arrowheads my whole life. I never knew how they were made. I assumed they were carved somehow. Then I learned how to Knapp. Crazy.

I always thought the same thing😂

First 18:00 was exemplary copper direct percussion work. Best I’ve seen on KZbin at pace. I’d like to see your antler work w some practice you’d be deadly. Nice job:)

Thanks man! I gave my antler billets away to a friend, I’ll have to order more. Really appreciate that!

I've been pretty busy lately. Watching this video, it is pretty fast, but it's all good. Gonna have to catch-up here with some past videos. Haven’t been getting my fix of Jake "Ross," the easy-going flint knapper. The guy that talks to his stones and rocks like Bob Ross always did with his canvases. 😅
@GulfCoastKnapping Жыл бұрын
I love that!😂 I might have to go by Jake Ross from now on!

I was on Dauphin Island and found huge boulders of black chert being used as a seawall. It had an oily smell when you knapped it. There were literally tons of it. Any idea were it's from?

Interesting. Could be local or could be from further south

Napping sounds relax me enough to sleep also. Odd, yes, but I'm not the only one, I guess.

It's not the ting ting ting at the Jack Crafty channel that puts me to sleep... 😂 I guess I should be careful being snarkastic about a knapper on a different channel. I've gotten myself in trouble doing that before... 😁
@GulfCoastKnapping Жыл бұрын
Haha! Well I was actually referencing a buddy of mine who lives down the road from me! He recently stumbled across my channel and said he fell asleep to the ting ting ting😂 But I do remember your comment!

@@GulfCoastKnappingwhen a big flake releases, there is that distinctive snap. If you're holding your hand just right, you can feel the sting 😅.
