I love the infectious enthusiasm in these videos. I think you should have a French cleat challenge - see if viewers can come up with a tool you can't make a French cleat for (or that will be a real challenge to make)!

Oooh! Fastest click, ignore all other notifications, and watch another French Cleat ideas video from SLC!!! Great stuff as always. My favorite was the superglue organizer. For the Q Tips and other small cleaner tools/items I'd get some small clear plastic jars with lids and mount those on a similar cleat organizer. If they're square then they will compactly fit side by side.

Thanks Ray! That is a good suggestion too. Now if I can just find some square clear plastic jars.

Clinton , you continue to inspire me to make and adapt my older existing French cleats to ones like yours! The more I look the more ideas, with your help, I find in my shop to hang/display with cleats.Vertical spacing is a little tricky but one of the beauties of cleats is they can be moved. Keep up the great videos and thank you again!

He’s also so creative and I really appreciate that. If I had one negative thing to say it is only that everything seems so…eccentric? I prefer a more cohesive feel to the overall vibe of my shop. Just my personal preference though. Still a great job.

I think I would make the outdoor tools holders to be up and down instead of left to right. That would take up less wall space. In my garage this would work better for me.

Personally I would never use any sort of blower to shift sawdust as it would fill the air with fine particles. I developed asthma due to breathing in wood fibres in my old job so would always use a vacuum or dust collection system. I love the enthusiasm you have, if you could bottle it you'd make a fortune! 😉

Hey, I just saw your Georgia license plate in the video. We have a nephew that lives in Douglas, you guys could be twins (or at least close relatives! :)). Every time I'm watching one of your videos and my wife comes in the room she asks: "what's Isaiah building today?" Enjoy your content, thanks for the videos! :)

The q tip holder can be improved by angling the bottom of it and leaving The plexiglass not all the way to the bottom, kinda like the old school straw dispensers in fast food joints.

I got a little tip for you! (maybe) When you make a cleat or holder, save the little 45 degree cut off piece and use that as a bumper to help hold things in place or to keep small items from falling off a shelf..

Love my Sawstop, but the stock mitre gauge has lousy accuracy, even apart from the short reference surface. After watching a review of a bunch of aftermatket mitre gauges (TWW), I'm wondering if you would consider a holder for something like the Incra 1000HD. Been using it for a year and it lives up to expectations. Either way, appreciate all the ideas!

Hi, thank You for sharing your videos they’re very educational for me because I’m new to woodworking and I do enjoy it, What I wanted to know is can I use a 1x4 and cut it in half to make those French cleats?? Or is too narrow?? Plywood is kind of expensive at this time and was just wondering if there was a chipper way of making them. Please advise. Thanking you in advance. PAUL
@SpecificLove7

A pine 1x4 may be a little small to rip in half for the wall cleats. But for the back of the tool holders, it should work.
