Badges are without a doubt the best addition to Splatoon series. They function as kind of mini achievements for players and give playing this game a feeling of longterm accomplishment. Not only that but they give insight to the other players at the start of a match. Badges just do so much that I hope that this feature never leaves.

One cool thing I like about S3 is it's usage of a cycle. Ik, bad way to say it, but how it started at the crater, went to the 3 cities, and came right back to the crater for it's grand ending.

I agree; the lifecycle of Splatoon 3 really felt like a journey, with each major update being an important milestone. Splatoon has always been good about making its world feel real and lived in, but with Splatoon 3, it felt like I was really there, apart of this evolving world alongside everyone. It’s a truly magical feeling.

I’d say one of the biggest things I like is from Side Order, and that’s the color changes on your player when you have certain chips and the visual effects that appear on your weapon when you get chips that upgrade your weapon. They’re both really cool detail changes to your character/weapon that I honestly hope they add in future games. Maybe the weapon visual effects can be implemented into the weapon freshness system in the future as a way to showcase how much you’ve played that weapon too. And I honestly hope they add the skin color/hair color changes too cause I would love to have multi-color hair in Splatoon (ie green and blue, which is part of my main OC’s appearance due to lore stuff lol)

I love the life that Splatsville has over the other hubs. All the stores you can't go into have their own music, the kids have way more animations, the entire back alley with table turf and it's own music and just the back alley during splatfest full of food and merch stalls. And my personal favorite, the poor octoling stuck in the portapotty (yes he is STILL there, you just have to wait awhile for him to sound off) It just feels more like a city kids would run around in, especially since it's the biggest one. I really love Splatsville and all it's quirks

Additionally, you hear a glimpse of the Splatfest lobby music in front of the lobby entrance, before Splatfest starts. This doesn't happen for Splat 1 & 2 hubs; they have the idol's Splatfest songs previewed instead. And needless to say, Splatsville is the best place to take pictures without too much crowd. I hope Splat 4 continues with the big hub.

More importantly though they way the chips in your palette combine to affect the color and pattern on them is incredible. It’s subtle so you don’t notice it immediately, but your ink matching the vibe of your build really adds the experience. Also agreed on the Nintendo hardware inspired weapons. Something I think goes unnoticed in the game and I think is really cool is the fact that (almost) every weapon class has a unique reticle. Shooters, sloshers, and blasters were considered to be variants on the same weapon class in their debut in S1 (along with rollers and brushes), but every other class is unique: splatlings have a huge double charge circle and a square around it to show max spread, chargers have both a laser and an actual charge circle, brellas have a square and a shooter’s inner circle - reminiscent of how the weapon emulates a shotgun when firing - dualies have two reticles that merge into one during turret mode, stringers have three dots that only appear when charging the weapon, and splatanas have a rectangular reticle made of lines seemingly indicating how the weapon is linear in playstyle. It’s a fantastic way to hint to the player the nature of the weapon’s shots. Finally, even the weapons meant to be variants of the same class have been beginning to receive diversity in their reticles. The best example of this is probably S-Blast, as its ground and jump modes have a circle circle with a tiny central dot, and the surrounding circle varies in size depending on the blast radius of the mode. This is unlike any shooter-adjacent weapon class we have seen so far and I hope a similar change happens to the class as a whole - along with sloshers - for Splatoon 4.

Such a unique, fun layout with a good amount of movement options, especially by S3 standards, and a really pretty aesthetic as well. -SQUID ROLLING: Such a fun new movement tech. I can’t go back to 1 or 2 without missing it, honestly. -THE SEASON SPLATFESTS: GrandFest obviously clears all of them by a lot, but I really enjoyed the four seasonal Splatfests for the new hub decorations, music and idol outfits, especially Summer Nights. -GETTING OVERPOWERED IN SIDE ORDER: Be it Max Fire Rate/Range/Piercing Blaster, or Max Special Charge/Ink Speed Brush, or Max Charge Speed/Ink Recovery Charger, there are so many ways to wipe the floor with the Spire’s guards. -SHELDON LICENSES: I honestly grew to love this new system that encourages you to try different weapons to get more weapons. I really agree with the hope for dodge roll attacks on dualies! I’ve also really wanted explosive rolls on dualies in pvp for quite a while myself, and now that we got it with grizzco dualies I want it even more. Not only that, but I think it’s also pretty likely given the way they did the new stringer and splatana. I do think that both wellstring and decav take inspiration from the grizzco weapons of their classes, doing similar ideas without being as extreme as well as adding a new idea with them to make them more unique. With wellstring, this is with the five arrows compared to grizzco stringer’s 9 arrows + wellstrings charging being inverted compared to the others. With decav it’s the farther lunge range while not being as far in distance or as close ranged as gtana, while also having the horizontal charge slash compared to the vertical charge slashes the others have. Based on this, I think we’ll likely see something similar for the dualies being given the explosive rolls like Gdualies along with some other gimmick as well.

One of my personal favourite elements of this game are the little attention to detail elements they added to the ranked modes. Shoot the middle of a Stinger to splat it, and target that one first because it is the only boss salmonid that can effectively shut you down. Shoot the Missile Pod Covers on the Flyfish to splat it with one shot, shoot the top of the flyfish pole to oneshot it, or shoot the side to two shot it. Also try to pick an egg up when you are about to exit the special.

You have a pocket tool that has the biggest range in the game, which can combo with a lot of thing (Blasters, Sloshers, some Snipers, etc.) and I think the sub weapon is really underrated, it’s literally like a sniper but as a pocket tool (and it needs some skills to be able to use it properly).

Speaking of music for the Side Order section: a detail that I like from Splatoon 3 during Grand Fest is the last minute themes that plays during a tri color match on the Grand Splatlands Bowl. Which ever team was leading with the two, or the last ultra signal claimed, it plays the music of which ever idol group is leading during that last minute. For example: if the ultra signals were claimed by team past, it plays a remixed version of Calamari Inkantation during the final minute, or if team future claimed the ultra signals, Deep Cut plays their part, but with a song we’re not yet familiar with, probably hinting towards the future idol’s theme for their splatfests in Splatoon 4. This detail is what makes Grand Festival’s tri color matches very special compared to the others, making battles hype you up for the team you’re rooting for in a big clash of colors, while also making history for the game’s eventual future, or even have an effect for its past, or present!

Here's my idea for new dualies: This would replace Aerospray, shooting basically the same, until it dodge rolls! I believe Chara suggested giving this weapon some form of accurate fire, and I think this would be the perfect solution. In turret mode it would shoot faster, but the paint would be reduced. And finally; the dodge rolls would do damage like the grizco dualies, I think 60 damge would be good, with 2 rolls in a row.

Cool Salmon Run things because this game mode is my curse: Stingers and Fish Sticks are related! You can see in the concept art that fish sticks have the same green zigzag hair and in game they also have rectangular pupils like stingers. Horroboros also has the green zigzag hair, possibly implying it was a stinger before it climbed that waterfall to become a dragon The fireworks from the Grizzco Egg Launchers are actually a lore thing! Big shots supposedly shoot fireworks instead of cannon balls on salmonid holidays and since Grandfest is the closest we get to a major holiday it makes sense. Steel eels have a Golden Egg Skeleton design on their Hair/Fin/Sail (This is a theory but it’s been driving me insane) It’s possible that Double Clickbait, The Grand Run song, has an uncredited 4th member to ω-3. The horn that you hear throughout the song is similar to the background noises on Salmon Jammin’ Junction. Since each of the other members of ω-3 are dedicated to their instruments, and since you can hear all 4 instruments being played at once during the song, it’s entirely possible they got a 4th salmonid who plays the horn and practiced at Junction to perform with them for Grand Run
