The DD 8V71 was also the biggest application in long hail buses. Indeed very dependable. Just check the oil daily.

The White Mustang was a flathead gasoline. I drove one in the 70's. Little girls on pink bicycles with baskets and streamers on the handlebars would pass me laughing

Cat left the truck engine market before the government regulations forced everybody to start producing junk. Up until about 2000 most of everybody's stuff was good
