A detail I noticed was that Flower coins are purple like the Regional coins in SMO, makes sense since Wonder takes place in a different kingdom.

2:35 I also remember seeing in other footage that jumping near those “beacons” causes them to dispense their items, so the drill isn’t required. 3:35 Y’know, that makes me think… Seeing how this is the first new 2D Mario since Mario Maker, and how I think Mario Maker and the mainline 2D games are usually developed by the same team, more or less, I wonder if they went out of their way implement any more sprite interactions than usual, just so they’ll have fewer edge cases to think about when eventually adapting Wonder into a Game Style. 3:59 There also seems to be a purple variant of those. 4:09 We actually already have a possible official name for those, for anyone wondering. Another neat detail that you can see comparing the trailer with the Nintendo Live demo back-to-back is how the first '?' block from 1-1 spawns a mushroom as small Mario and a coin as big Mario. Which might mean the super star isn't the only item you can get from coin blocks depending on the player's state anymore

thats an interesting change, as that means people could easily get the elephant form quickly without the powerups being to far away from each other.

We have already seen this kind of block in a previous Mario title before. In 2-1 of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, you can find a Question Block immediately after the Checkpoint. Why do all characters use a cap as a parachute? Why don't characters use unique ones like an umbrella for Princess Peach or a flower propeller for Daisy?

4:10 those are actually called Archerfish (you can see it for a brief moment in the Direct - where they show off the “viewing players in other levels” bit) 4:43 and I’m pretty sure these guys are Rrumbas (from one of the level names shown in the Direct)

Those striped blocks remind me of Super Mario 3D World. Didn't that have a block that got longer the more you hit it? It might have actually been 3D Land that did it first, but I can barely remember anything from that game compared to its Wii U successor.

Fun fact: If you Equip the Wall Climb Badge, You'll Be Able to wall climb once, BUT WAIT, read 'til the end. You can Wall Climb Once IF you do a normal wall jump, HOWEVER, if you instead use the R Button or the ZR Button (a.k.a the spin jump buttons), you can Wall Jump off as if you were not using the badge, difference being you wall jump while spinning. This is a thing you can normally do and exists since New Super Mario Wii if my memory's not failing me. Which if it is then probably New Super Mario Bros U. However, doing this allows you to Store your Wall Climb Usage! So if you want to use the wall climb in a place where you think you cannot reach without using it, you can try to Spin Wall Jump, then Wall Climb! A few things to note about Spin Wall Jumping is that when you do that, if you go to a wall, you'll fall. Don't Worry! You can still Spin Wall Jump as long as you have walls! It's just that Mario, or whatever character you are playing as, is programmed to only slide of walls when in the normal falling state (a.k.a Falling without the Spinning), you can make your character Wall Spin Jump and still be able to slide tough, you just gotta spin mid air! Then you'll fal normally.

One thing I noticed- those strange towers with the spikes on them (kinda like Bowser’s Kingdom in SMO) may be from the new castle levels- look at the footage when yellow Yoshi has some bones in his mouth and spits them out

I’ve noticed that coop doesn’t have collision between players. I will admit, one of the funniest parts of the new super Mario Bros games was messing with friends so it’s a bit sad to see that go, even if this isn’t a “New” Super Mario Bros game.
