Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 0:00 - Intro 1. 0:34 {Why Did Jesus’ Body Still Have Marks?} Why did Jesus' resurrected body still bear the scars and injuries which brought about His death? It is my understanding that our own resurrected bodies will be perfect in every way, not merely those we had just prior to death. I, for one, want all my absent teeth and hair back! Why wasn't Jesus' body also perfect, as ours will be? 2. 10:28 {Typology in Noah’s Story?} Do you think Noah could be a “type” of Christ? Why or why not? 3. 13:18 {Learning to Desire our Study Time} How do I develop a craving for solid biblical teaching? I really enjoy your content, but I become bored easily. It’s easy for me to get distracted in my free time. 4. 16:25 {Is Evolution Contrary to Belief in God?} I've noticed many people don't believe in God because of evolution. Is evolution contrary to God? Could God really have created the earth in 6 literal days? Can God “speed up” the creation process? 5. 25:26 {Was Adam the First Man?} It seems in Genesis 1, that God creates humanity and blesses them, but then later in Genesis 2, God creates Adam as a representative in Eden. Doesn’t Scripture teach Adam was the first man? 6. 31:09 {Are Angels Made in the Image of God?} In a previous episode, you stated that angels are not made in the image of God. Is that really something that we can state definitively? 7. 34:32 {God/Satan in our Dreams?} Does God and/or Satan visit us in dreams? 8. 39:12 {Was Simon Magus Repentant?} In Acts 8:9, Do you think Simon Magus was aware that he wasn’t right with God before Peter rebuked him? Some commentaries assume that he was never truly repentant, but some say he was genuine. 9. 43:56 {Can We “Over-Study” the Bible?} Is it possible to over-study Scripture & theology? I feel like I constantly burn myself out on God's Word, but I also feel terrible if I go too long (like a day or two) without studying it. 10. 46:33 {Where Did Satan’s Rebellion Come From?} Since God is not the author of evil and didn't create a kingdom with temptation or evil beings, how did Lucifer's pride and rebellion come about? 11. 50:27 {How Intimate Before Marriage is Appropriate?} I think sexual intimacy prior to marriage (i.e., clothed sexual touching/rubbing) is sinful, but my fiancée disagrees. What do I do, as a soon to be husband, when we disagree on what is sinful? 12. 58:15 {Resolving a “Contradiction”} About generational sin: Exodus 34:7 vs Ezekiel 18: 20…can you please explain how we should understand this apparent contradiction? 13. 1:03:51 {Is a Continuous Drunkard Saved?} Are you still saved if you can't stop drinking? 14. 1:07:48 {Does God Control our Free Will?} In Proverbs 21:1 it says, "The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord. Like the rivers of water He turns it wherever He wishes." Does that mean God controls the king's free will? 15. 1:09:53 {How was Solomon Wise since he Turned Away?} How was Solomon considered to be the wisest man on Earth and yet he, too, turns away from God in his old age? He also doesn't seem to recognize his sinful ways. He doesn't even ask God to relent. 16. 1:12:01 {Witnessing Opportunity vs. Spiritual Trap!} I met some Muslims who were evangelizing, and I went up to them to challenge their beliefs. They invited me to a Ramadan dinner at a mosque. Should I go, or would that be a spiritual trap? 17. 1:13:28 {Are Court Weddings Recognized by God?} I watched the whole marriage series and didn’t find anything about this: my wife and I have been married for 8 years (through the court) and she claims God doesn’t acknowledge it. Thoughts? 18. 1:16:13 {About Jesus’ 40 Days in the Desert} I saw a video where you said “3 days and nights” was a Jewish idiom. Is 40 days in the desert the same, or is the Bible referring to 40 as just a long time that can be tangible (40 days, 40 nights, 40 years, etc.)? 19. 1:19:09 {Can a True Christian Deny Jesus’ Deity?} If a person believes in the Gospel, that Christ died for our sins and rose from the dead, but they don't believe that Jesus was God (just a "higher spiritual being"), are they a Christian? 20. 1:22:21 {Obeying vs. Honoring Parents} I am a legal adult and I currently still live in my parents’ home. I am looking at moving out in the near future, but my parents believe that young women shouldn’t leave the home until they’re married. Where do you draw the line between personal convictions and the command to honor your parents?

Jesus was raised up in a spirit heavenly body. He was no longer flesh. Spirit beings can form bodies to appear like flesh. They were so convincing and in great detail that some spirit beings ie ANGELS made human male bodies that could produce sperm. Jesus’ wounds were only seen during the time Thomas doubted him. No other occasion mentions witnesses seeing any wounds. In fact, Jesus closest companions and disciples had trouble even recognizing his face which is a clear indication as a spirit being Jesus could look how he wanted and wasn’t constricted by laws of physics since he could disappear and enter rooms without having to walk through physical objects.

I’m also sceptic but I’m not dumb so I will not defy reality when I see it regardless of my moral objections or subjective beliefs or thoughts. There is a huge difference between being a skeptical person vs being stubborn and determined to find the right “tool” to satisfy your itch to understand everything. In other words : Being skeptical does not keep someone from “truth” but rather subjective ignorant stubbornness leads to more deception and seemingly “believable” lies…

I have a brain cyst - roughly 5 cm in diameter. I have learned to be content with it and the issues that resulted from it. I do not concern myself to whether or not I will receive a “perfect” body when I am reunited with Jesus. Psalm 139 tells me God knew me in the womb. I was fearfully and wonderfully made. PRAISE THE LORD FOR THE OPPOR TUNITY TO TESTIFY ABOUT MY HEART CONDITION WHICH CAUSED ME TO BE RUSHED 4X A MONTH TO A HOSPITAL BUT ACCORDING TO THE DOCTORS WHO EXAMINED ME EVERYTHING WAS ALL RIGHT. (???) SO I SHOULD JUST GO HOME AND ACT AS IF EVERYTHING WAS ALL RIGHT (?) SO I WENT HOME AND ASKED GOD TO GRANT ME TO AT LEAST FINISH READING THE BIBLE FROM COVER TO COVER BEFORE HE TOOK MY LIFE. LONG STORY SHORT, I READ THE BIBLE FROM COVER TO COVER THROUGH HEART ATTACK AFTER HEART ATTACK FOR 3 (THREE) YEARS EVEN ASCENDING TO WRITING SERMONS UNTILL I GOT A BOOK WHICH STATED THAT THERE ARE 7 (SEVEN) ILLNESSES CAUSED BY EVIL SPIRITS : CARDIO VASCULAR DISEASE, CANCER, TBC, KIDNEY DISEASE ETC. WHICH THOUGH CAN BE TREATED WITH MODERN MEDICINE HAVE A TENDENCY TO LIE IN HIDING UNTILL THE HOST/HUMAN RELAXES HIS VIRGIL AND THE AFFLICTION STRIKES AGAIN. SO I COMBINED MY BIBLE READING WITH EXCORCISING OF THE EVIL SPIRITS CAUSING HEART DISEASE AND I WAS HEALED! HALELUYA. That area of the brain is dead. It has been dead before I was born. The brain is plastic and compensated for it by having other areas of the brain do the things dead part would have done. My motor control and feeling were affected on the left side of my body. If we use a normal life span of 70 - 80 years, I have perhaps 30 years left to live. Removing dead brain cells may be possible, but I cannot see any advantage to doing so. I could be left worse off than I am. Perhaps it is successful. Then I might need to relearn things like walking and how to function. For what gain? Would that enrich my life? I would need to spend up to half of my remaining life learning how to function. That does not excite me. I’d rather spend the rest of my life doing things for God.

Mike, I am so unbelievably blessed by your teaching. The evolution vs. creation debate was always a huge stumbling block for me, and your answer was so thorough and clear that I understand: no matter what science says, there is simply no way to get around God as the origin. So I don't need to get down in the weeds over this issue.

Being capable yet being SO SO IN ERROR is not a valid proper Holy way to exist, it's something that WILL get an soul rejected on judgement da.. Yes I'm afraid for him because I Know Matthew 7 says" LORD LORD did I Not do ALL THESE THINGS in your name etc etc" Depart from me you whom practice lawlessness or "ANOMIA" which is ANTI-Torah ANTI-pure Apostle , Regardless his intellectism, INTELLECT is NOT a saving element no matter how must a soul says knows or does. It's bothersome to me he's lost like he is. Remember salvation has unchanging "conditions" to obtain it , walk it out, follow and OBEY its format and then prepare for Yeshua--Christ. , and that is a vary horrific set of words to follow that from Christ and Kent CANT hear the facts he's IS in this path currently headed for Matthew 7, his deeds witness he is. The "fruit" his example renders witnesses clearly he is. I can only pray for him to finally wake up and then really actually get saved for REAL as there Torah and Apostles taught is essential to be. It seems strange to hypothesize that 'evolution' if true, it would point to God. That's like saying that if murder was OK it would point to justice. Evolution is not merely a putative technical account of the creation (by this I mean the cosmos, that material space-time universe), but a worldview that starts and ends with material and nothing but material processes. Genesis 1 stands directly in opposition to this, making the creation by God's word (and therefore with propositional content) part of our flow of history, personal and in terms of the world we are in and our experience of it. If 'god' used 'evolution' as it is contemporaneously understood, it would have the result of merging god into the material creation and detaching us from God on a personal level. That is the God who is a person in relation to his creatures-in-his-image who are thus also persons. is detached from his creatures, anonymously. Merging God into nature hides him and his works from us and undoes his self-declared identity as the one who, while separate and distinct from the cosmos is active and present within it as person who is not silent, but engages in communicative acts distinct from his material creation. Thus, if evolution were 'true' we would be in a completely other universe that was undefined personally, in which person-hood was a mere phenomenon of material, offering no integration point for it and no basis for the diversity from person to non-person to the unity of a material creation.

I like simply reading the Bible and asserting what it clearly says... First off to start with God says He created from tohu ov bohu (Hebrew phrase saying a null void of nothingness without form or substance and utter darkness -- i.e. think if the vacuum of space, less then that, truly nothing...). So the problem with the little dud, it isn't scientific if one cares to only "Use science" as most unbelievers or skeptics will say... Simply where did the matter for the little dud come from, is it eternal? But science would say things may change state, but nothing is created or destroyed. Or entropy all things are winding down from more order to less. Like my body now that i'm 60, i'm happy to be able to walk, running is out of the question.. Evillusion (evil illusion) would say i should be getting better. Ah but back to the Bible. Would assert God wrote it in a way that all people at all times will understand it, in comes the "So it was evening and morning.... One Day".... Next the age of the earth, is God a liar? Don't think you'd say He is, love the details God has provided if you will look to Him for the answers. As boring as the genealogies are in the O.T. or a verbal challenge to pronounce... They serve a purpose, the give the age how long we have been here, work it backwards we come close to around 4000 B.C. These are some of the reasons all solid points from the Bible alone. But then from a theological point from the Bible, devillusion (oops evillusion) needs death and possibly millions or more years. But reading Rom 5 it clearly teach death was never part of creation until Adam sinned. Devillusion mandates there was death before sin. I have oodles of other points with anything other than a young earth view, even if Mike elludes to he use to believe this but not so sure. Many might raise the point about time/age... So why can't God create things with the appearance of time... Many will say because it wouldn't be "true". To this point two problems. First it is an argument from an assumption and silence, or some don't want to appear ignorant in university college classes... God did say to the Jew a stumbling block but to the Greek "Foolishness". While another problem if we continue with the argument about creating stuff with age... Adam...? Was Adam created with age? I would assert yes, but if Adam wasn't Eve definitely was? Really can't see Adam being a pedophile... So the "God can't create stuff with age" is a false argument? Lots more points could be raised... These are the ones given to me when I sought God and prayed seeking His perspective. Simple sought Him and said "Lord you don't want us to be in the dark about stuff, please show me either way what is true...". In the end the point i'd assert God has given and seeking Him, all stand up pretty well.

@@dand4485 , I totally agree. I have listened to Mike many times, but had this been the first video of his I had ever listened to I probably wouldn’t have come back to his channel again. I used to wholeheartedly support AiG, and I still think their mission is good. However, throughout the process of getting my physics degree there are a number of things they tend to overlook or underplay. There is a lot of evidence and valid argumentation for both perspectives. I think what Mike presented here is a good balance. I don’t know where I stand currently, but I don’t think anybody really has the complete picture. There are good Christians on every side of the argument.
@dand4485

@@isaiahmumaw Simple point for me really. In my mind is Moses and Korah, might suggest studying it if you are not familiar with it. Korah was arguing he should be Israel's ruler, and "technically" he had some valid points, however God chose Moses, and in the end Korah was swallowed by the earth opening up as judgement for rebelling against God. I would ask if we take the Bible literal, what information or what suggest anything other than a young earth? Ah i should say from the Bible alone... Are we not commanded from the Bible "Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding." (Pro 3:5) and "Walk by faith not by sight" (2 Cor 5:7). Is that part in Pro 3:5 "With you whole heart" qualified to where it makes sense or what can be observed by science...? So my question i'd assert is valid? Is the need for anything other than a young earth an attempt to reconcile science and the Bible? Then where is one's faith? Or what are they putting their faith in? If one will not simply accept the Bible at face value, why accept if one believes in God their sins are forgiven? Sure one might have some (cough, cough) valid points on the surface, but what impact does will it have not taking God at His word? Or a simple question, the genealogies in the Bible if anyone cares to walk them backwards we are left with a world roughly 6000 years old, so is God lying to us or is the Bible corrupt and wrong? Science at best is still man's wizDUMB? In the end the challenge is will you put your faith in God, who is more than sufficient to do what ever He desires, or science. Can't be both... Or as the Bible would say "Choose this day whom you will serve..." Are the giants too big God can't provide and do?
@isaiahmumaw
@isaiahmumaw 2 жыл бұрын
@@dand4485 I can’t take the time to respond to everything you said. But here’s what I will say: my faith is not dependent on the age of the earth or the universe. My faith is in God, who is still the same God regardless of which stance is true. God is a logical God, who created a universe with logical laws and scientific processes. Both biblical creationism and Big Bang cosmology/evolutionary theory rely on incomplete human science and continue to grow and evolve in their formulations. God could have used either process, or perhaps our limited human understanding has yet to uncover what He really did. The joy of science is continuing to uncover what God has created. I won’t take a hard stance because I’m willing to acknowledge what I don’t know. It does not waver my faith.

To Q13, and anyone struggling with alcoholism or addiction: And to the one who does not work but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: "Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin." Romans 4:4-8 Yes! Someone who continously struggles with any sin can be saved, because by Christ our sin is not counted against us. Only out of a place of security in Christ do we have the tools by his Spirit to remove sins from our lives. You wouldn't tell an unbeliever that in order to be sure Christ's sacrifice applies to them they must first remove all serious sins from their life (as if there were non-serious sin that is tolerable). Why is the counsel for a professing Christian who is a suspected unbeliever any different? Both, if lost, can be saved by the same means of faith in the one who justifies the ungodly. Yes, "faith without works is dead" and a dead faith cannot save. So, do you counsel the one who is lost with a non saving faith to pursue salvation by adding works? Dead faith + works = salvation? No! You counsel such a one to pursue a true faith, a rest on the finished work of Jesus unto salvation from which all good fruits flow. Examine the story of Abraham, as mentioned in Romans 4, Galatians 3, James 2, Hebrews 11. He was commended for his faith, faith counted unto him as righteousness, and from that faith actions came. Examine how God gave Abraham a promise concerning Issac BEFORE telling him to offer Issac on the altar, and therefore he could have confidence that they both would return down the mountain. It was only because Abraham had assurance of Issac's salvation according to a promise of God that he could rightly complete his faith in God's promise by his works. Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2)

Wow... that is beautifully put! I'd been wrestling with this topic for a while (faith without works etc) and had come to a similar conclusion, but in a very messy way that I think I hadn't really sorted out enough to articulate well. The way you explained that was so helpful! I'm going to have to save this comment for future reference. Can't really add much to what you've said, other than to agree. Yes, we absolutely should be striving to be obedient to Christ, but because of gratitude and love, surely, not because we fear we may not be saved if we aren't good enough. And as you said, living in sin may rightly make us question our standing with God, but the answer to that is faith, not works... That is such a strange concept to us. As humans, we want to feel like we can sort the situation out through our own effort, but that can only ever lead to a cycle of sin, doubt, and more sin. Praise Jesus for his wondrous mercy! Without His love for us, and his rightousness which he gives us, we would truly be lost!

I appreciated your thoughts and views about evolution in question 4. Having done a Ecology PhD in a very secular environment in Ireland, I wish I could have had some of your confidence and balanced responses when my faith was poked at by my fellow researchers. The deeper I researched micro-evolutionary processes since the last ice age in a particular freshwater fish species, the more I was in awe of God’s hand in it all.

The part about "visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children", I think means that the effect of the sin trickles down to the third or fourth generation. But the effect doesn't mean the guilt, like the people of the subsequent generations did anything wrong. But if anyone in a subsequent generation turns to God and away from sin and repent, they have the power to overcome and even reverse the effect of sin. The idea is: don't sin; you're possibly harming your children's children. Do good. You're blessing your children's children's children's children etc. It's not generational curses. It's the cause- effect relationship of sin and righteousness. But in each situation God is there to make things better and bless.

To the person that "can't" stop drinking, I hope you read this. Take it from me and my life long journey with 1st Jesus, 2nd addiction. You absolutely will lose your "being saved" life. You will be choosing a path that will take you further and further away from God. I am one of the lucky ones. I survived that journey, many don't. Remember, you will have chosen to take this path. You will have chosen alcohol/drugs over God. God will let you. I hope and pray you make the right choice.

Ive looked to scripture on dreams, and there is much wisdom in Mike's comments. Love the Denethor analogy, its spot on, and i echo his sentiment, never attempt to interpret a vision from the enemy, it will only distract or worse, deceive you. Also, do not taunt the enemy. Like Jesus, only respond with the Word of God. Pray and believe in the power of Jesus name, that out of loyalty to God, you will not heed the enemie's "counsel". Let His Word be your counsel. Worship God and serve God alone, not your curiosity. Make an effort to dwell on what is truly pure, what is kind, on what is good, reflect on Jesus. and be patient if you think its a dream or vision from God or if you think it might be that its a significant dream. Maybe write it down. Get it on paper, and compare it to what scripture teaches. A dream from God should inspire meditation on His Word. On who he is. Be careful to not distort the Word with your bias and impose your dream on it accidentally. Do not be anxious with any mystery, be at peace with the good fruit it leads to. If you think its a warning to repent from known sin in your life, then trust in God and repent, encouraged that he led you to that.

His very wounds are glorified. They are the instruments of mankind's deliverance. I have always held the view that God created the world in six days, but I am always open to hear what other people say. Recently I heard a Dr Lennox talking about how the bible is not really clear about how long God actually created the universe. I started getting convinced until I think the Holy Spirit nudged me to take a look at the Ten Commandments. In giving the Sabath commandment, God clearly says he created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh day. I have always known that God works in patterns and it was wonderful to hear God himself confirm it was six twenty four hour days.

“True humility and fear of the Lord lead to riches, honor, and long life.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭22:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬ “True humility is not thinking less of yourselves but thinking of yourself less.” -CS Lewis Follow the perfect example of Jesus and serve others. Jesus said He came not to be served but to serve and give His life for us and He did just that. Let us see everything through the lens of the Gospel. Being quick to forgive because we have been forgiven. And being quick to show things like compassion, empathy, and love to others because we have received them ourselves. Always remember who God is, and live in awe and reverence of Him. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.” ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭ESV‬‬ In living with God we will find true satisfaction and blessing that cannot be found in the world or anything else. Obviously, Jesus could remove his wounds anytime he wants. He's omnipotent. He's wearing them because he sacrificed his life for us, and so he still sees some metaphysical value in continuing to wear them until scripture is fulfilled. There is seemingly some grandiose, cosmic system of balances beyond human understanding that controls just how his sacrifice for our sins works. There exists some great, higher-dimensional process which we probably lack the cognitive ability to understand in detail due to our mortal limitations.

Not true.
