Question Time Stamps for Quick Reference: 0:00 - Intro 1. 0:39 {Did Jesus Contradict Himself?} Why would Jesus instruct us to let our good works be seen by others (Matthew 5: 16) if He also instructed us to do our good works in secret (Matthew 6:1-4)? Am I misunderstanding something? 2. 12:19 {Do Some People Get More Grace?} Romans 5:2 says we stand on grace. In Acts 4: 33, it says great grace was upon them all. Does that mean some people have more grace? I’ve heard you say we don't get grace little by little. 3. 18:10 {If You’ve Forgotten a Promise to God} What do you do when you’ve made a promise to God and either forget the specifics of it or forget you’ve made it altogether? 4. 20:58 {Should We Fear Future Events?} What is a healthy way to look at the future with all the disasters in Revelation? I have trouble building up my life without fearing everything will change soon, for the worse. 5. 25:51 {Responding to Pro-Choice Thinking} How can we respond to someone who uses, “A creator has the right to do whatever they want with their own creation” as a pro-choice argument? 6. 30:54 {About “Holy Water” or “Blessed” Objects} A local street preacher uses holy water on the ground, which he says keeps demonic activity from disrupting his preaching. I haven't seen Scripture support this. Is it biblical? 7. 36:18 {About the Millennial Kingdom} If God is eternal and He knows everything from the beginning to the end, then why does He set up a 1000 year Millennium Kingdom? What are the reasons for this, biblically? 8. 42:18 {Perichoresis vs. Modalism} Can you explain the difference between the concepts of perichoresis and modalism? They seem to be very similar ideas on the surface. 9. 46:06 {About Bart Ehrman’s Teachings & Tactics} You have talked about Dr. Bart Ehrman (ex: your “Atheist Scholar Misleads Millions Of People” video). Does he also use these "techniques" on his professional peers? 10. 51:27 {Trusting God when He Seems Silent} What practical steps do you do to trust in the Lord? I frequently have difficulty trusting Him during difficult times, especially when He doesn’t seem to be answering prayer. 11. 59:20 {Were the Nazis Appointed by God?} Were the Nazis as a government authority "appointed by God" according to Romans 13? 12. 1:03:39 {Why did God Send Jacob to Egypt?} In Genesis 12: 10, Abraham goes to Egypt. That decision is considered by many as disobedience to God. If going to Egypt is related to a bad decision, why is it that later, God sent Jacob to Egypt? 13. 1:06:30 {Are We Dead to Sin, or Sold Under It?} Why does Paul say "...reckon ye yourselves to be dead unto sin, but alive unto God through Christ Jesus our Lord" in Romans 6: 11, yet in Romans 7: 14, he says, "...but I am carnal, sold under sin"? 14. 1:10:05 {Traditional Preferences over Biblical Theology?} I’m an ex-Catholic, but I’m getting pulled back in. I don’t know why, but I just like praying in Latin, the Rosary, praying to saints, and using scripted prayers because I don’t know how to pray on my own. 15. 1:18:15 {How to Understand the Bible} What is your general advice on understanding Bible verses that we don't understand? 16. 1:20:33 {Communion: How Frequent?} My dad thinks that the Lord's Supper should only be observed on Passover because when Jesus said "do this in remembrance of Me,” He meant Passover. Any evidence in Scripture for weekly communion? 17. 1:25:06 {How to Help Victims of Abuse} I'm a new youth leader and we have teenagers who are severely abused at home. What messages do we focus on to help them? And what else can we do to help? 18. 1:28:40 {Does God Command Murder?} What do you think of people that commit murder and then state, “God told me to do it”? 19. 1:32:20 {Corporate vs. Individual Election} What are your thoughts on the idea of corporate election, as opposed to individual election? 20. 1:35:22 {Is Jesus the Bible?} How should we biblically respond when someone says they believe Jesus IS the Torah or Jesus IS the Bible?

@Sarah Zimmermann Thank You Sarah for selecting my question, that was very helpful. Even though my time zone is different i waited for the live-stream and you picked my question even though i forgot to put Q in the question. Thanking God for that. Also thank God for your ministry and may he bless you guys. Hope your health is well now.

Should I phrase my question differently for it to be answered? I have asked it half dozen times in the past few months. @Sarah Zimmerman I searched the previous the episodes and my question has not been answered. I asked "Does Daniel 12:2 allude to the the dead being unconscious until the resurrection"?. You responded that Mike has answered questions regarding soul sleep as if you have closed the subject. As if once enough questions about a topic have been answered that subject has been closed. Not really fair since a question has never been asked about Daniel 12:2. I used the website and that verse has never been referenced. Please get back to me thanks.
@sarahfaith316
@sarahfaith316 2 жыл бұрын
@@TruthfromBibleMinistry Hi there, with that verse reference in mind, that would be an acceptable question, even though he has several clips already along the lines of "What happens to us when we die?" and the idea of "soul sleep." If I include those links here, KZbin will most likely auto-delete my comment, but feel free to send me a message through the contact form on our website (request links option) if you would like me to send you those links. But I will consider your question specifically about Daniel 12:2 during our next session if I see it. Please understand that we receive hundreds of questions though and I hope we can get yours in but we're so sorry we can't get to everyone's.

I haven't watched your Q & A 's for almost a year and I have to say that as much as I enjoyed them before , something has changed . You are so much calmer and put together , it seems so much more "professional" . I just thought that I would offer that up as an encouragement to you and your team . I'm sure you guys hear this all the time , but thank you to everyone involved in your ministry ! All of you are a blessing !!!

I haven’t noticed Mike being anything but perfect from bringing to end. I’ve watched every video on his website at least twice (I’m watching this one two years after the fact, for the second time). I’m constantly amazed at his clear thinking, exceptional ability to reason through sometimes off-the-wall questions, deep scholarship, humility, wit, and life-changing inspirational tone; I’ve never noticed anything less than this, whether early or late. I winced when I read your comment, being concerned that Mike might worry over his early work which you say was “less than” stellar. I think that he has pretty thick skin, whereas I don’t-so I’m feeling the sting of your backhanded compliment in his behalf. I know-weird, right? Kathy Alba.

Sometimes the abuse is not from the home but the playground such as bullying. These kids need encouragement, counseling, friendship too. Many times church groups can be one of the few places they are safe from bullying. I know it was a place of acceptance for me as a kid. I experience very little bullying at church but in the playground all the time. I found it a place of refuge and friendship. It is where I experienced God's love through the people of God. What helped me a lot was the love and acceptance I experienced in church.

To Marie from question 4: I would say focus as much as you can focus your efforts on getting closer to the Lord so that whether you have to endure tribulation, you are as ready as you can be within your own control or if you continue to live out the rest of your days and die peacefully at a ripe old age while sleeping, you are ready to meet the lord in whatever circumstance brings you to him. Paul was about as close to God as any human who ever lived and he counted it a privilege to die for christ. I think that demonstrates the type of mindset we should have regarding christ. When our mind is on christ, he will give us the strength to endure no matter what we go through. Phillipines 4:13 says as much. If looking at the news is getting you anxious, please take a break and give your mind a rest from doom and gloom. Rather go out in his creation and enjoy the day the Lord has made. You don't have to stop altogether, just please notice when you feel this way and take a break.

Blessings Pastor Winger. Thanks 🙏 so very much for your dedication in service to God and His children. I lived much of my 67 years as a double-minded hypocrite, and the temporal cost (in this life) have been and continue to be, horrific. Obey The Lord and save yourself a lot of grief, pain and suffering. I give glory to God and Praise His Holy Name…for, throughout my sin-filled life, God didn’t forsake me. Amen.

As a dad, neither my wife nor I, are the creator of our child. We're merely the vessels for the creation that God had created. We are 100% responsible for keeping and growing that creation to the best of our abilities. It's God's job to decide when that creation has reached its expiration.

Quick comment on Egypt typology: rather than viewing it as representing "bad choices," try instead looking at it as "the world." It's a place that believers pass through, and they live in for as long as God deems necessary, but they don't join themselves with its systems and morals, nor do they make any permanent settlements in it. The "bad choices" aspect is secondary: those occur when believers begin depending on the world for provision and adopting its values, rather than depending on the same God who can, for example, make Joseph a ruler and provider of grain for a season, then lead his people out when that same world would have them be slaves for its own purposes.

Your pirate joke was funny & I think ya gotta have a beach mentality to enjoy that humor. Your words are thoughtful, inspiring and encouraging to me. What is your thoughts on the new Jesus Movie coming out in February 2023? I want to support it mostly because I lived it. My friends loaded up our cars & headed to the closest concert or to a service. It was amazing time to be a part of. I will say it was a lot of hype…maybe like an Elevation/Bethel type of hype. I was already saved, the Jesus movement just a way my hippy needs were being fed. Does that sound crazy? We worshipped Jesus but there was a little Chuck Smithism going on. I love your ministry & thank my daughter all the time for turning me toward your ministry. Blessings, debby

These truths are even stronger as the Holy Spirit convicts you of your sin, that you are righteous etc. So in worship, you are standing in a place of the revelation of God Himself by the Holy Spirit. I think your emotions are a response to this. I have a similar feeling when I prepare teaching and get to spend time in the Word. Everything else fades into the background and I get a glimpse. It makes my heart sing, and I behold something of the beauty of God. I cry, sing for joy, or just lean back and bask in the wonder of it. This is very healthy, and many people in the Bible respond strongly when facing angels or coming into the prescense of God. I´m glad you can feel this connection. But the revelation is greater than our feelings, the truth is still true when we don´t feel it strongly and God is there just as much when you are not as aware.

Brother Mike I believe you have been given great discernment. You and the holy spirit just gave me an aha moment in regards to the Exodus plagues situation. When Jesus said to the Pharisees and Sadducees a wicked and adulterous generation asks for a sign. What better sign is there than the plagues on Egypt ending with the Red Sea. And then shortly after there worshiping a golden cow. On top of all the other signs and having God's presents with Israel and still worshiped other gods throughout history. Showing that signs even if it is right in front of you people will still not believe. IT (Belief) HAS TO BE BY FAITH. Like Abraham in Genesis through his faith it was accredited to him righteousness.

I pray "our Father" over and over. While sometimes it feels vain I then focus more on it. My purpose is to pray as Jesus said and to show love for his will. Praying for my specific purpose feels so wrong and so I combat it with that. Other times I pray in spirit; pure emotion but as a "canvas" for The Lord's Prayer. If I'm needing instruction I'm open.

Pastor Mike Winger, I think what they mean in question 20 is the same as what I meant when discussing with someone who was against grace and grace alone. He said that that they are to put into practice the law of Christ (for salvation) and any reference to us being under grace and not the law He said that the law of Christ and the law of Moses are different. So I said the law of Moses is the law of Christ. In the New Testament Christ emphasized loving the Lord and your neighbor summed up the law and the prophets. I told him that Christ is the law. As in Christ embodies the law perfectly and I believe as the Angel of the Lord. Established the law Himself. So it is fair to say He is the law, but He died to save of from the righteous judgement God has on us for breaking His law.

Q4: Even if the GREAT tribulations don't come in our lifetimes, it doesn't necessarily mean you should plan for a calm and easy life as a Christian. Looking at the way the world is going, there are very clear signs that we are moving towards large-scale war, famine, and thirst. This does not mean that Christians should just drop everything and give up on life. On the contrary: It means all the more that Christians should be prepared to help those in need, as there will be more need than ever before in our lifetime. And even if these tribulations ARE the GREAT tribulations, our responsibilities do not fall away. So long as we walk this Earth, even in our fallen state, God has made us responsible to do the best we can. Specifically, I think there's a great deal of sense in Christians getting deeply involved with the production of food, so that we are ready to provide when the need arises.

Hi Mike, I dropped this on Facebook too as I really hope to get through to you. I would LOVE to know your thoughts on spanking kids. We are currently exploring gentle parenting with our kids (5 and 2 years old). The bible seems to encourage physical discipline (hitting with a rod no less!) “Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die. 14 If you strike him with the rod, you will save his soul from Sheol.” (Proverbs 23:13-14) Apart from the fact that this is illegal and socially unacceptable, research seems to show that physical discipline can lead to trauma and mental health problems. I personally know of adults who were physically disciplined as kids and they seem to carry emotional, relational and social problems into adulthood - problems that prima facie seem to be a consequence of being physically punished as kids (I am open to being wrong about this). For us personally - we consistently give firm boundaries, consequences and discipline. And this seems to work really well with our boys who are growing up to be gentle, loving, respectful and faith-filled. We are finding that more firm and gentle techniques work really well. In contrast physical discipline plausibly controls outside behaviors (children act out of fear) how effective is it at changing children’s hearts and shaping their character? Doesn’t it lead to performance behavior rather than genuine goodness and self control? So all of this troubles me because Proverbs is the book of biblical wisdom - so surely it is the best way to parent. Yet experience, research and common sense all seem to point to gentle (but not permissive) parenting.

If we really think the end is soon, we need to unify together to win souls. If it's pre trib it's all the more important to win souls. If it isn't we must bear witness to the signs during the tribulation and realize unlike the world the Lord will prepare us, although we will be more prepared the more we are surrendered to Him.

@Sean the Entirety of the Old Testament shows how selfish man is, how evil we can be and how much suffering our actions bring. It shows his desire to bring us in right relationship with Him when we encounter Israel. Israel like their name means, wrestle with God constantly. God makes a covenant to bless them if they would keep his commandments and they agree... Bus soon after they end up breaking their covenant and go after other "gods" What is God's response? He enacts jugement for the purpose of guiding them to repent, to turn from their wrongdoing and follow Him. It seems many that don't understand the old testament don't understand God is Holy and perfect. He has a responsibility as the ultimate judge do deal with wrong actions to restore wholeness to those who are affected, but if all mankind is involved in wrongdoing the solution of God dealing with all sin instantly would lead to no humans being left alive. Besides His justice, God actively wants relationship with His creation. Israel wanted God's blessings without wanting God, some perhaps wanted God..., But most wanted the things of this world more, or were to afraid of Him because they were unwilling to understand Him. The reason God cannot make a mankind that is unable to sin is because He is not willing to make a mankind unable to love Him or have a relationship with Him. A "robot" cannot love because it has no freedom to choose. To accept or reject. It can only follow it's programming. God gave mankind a free will allowing him the ability to follow God or not. Here's the problem. God created everything. Everything you can see came about from Him. Therefore He is the source of all things. Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Self Control, all came from Him. Not only that we call those the fruits of His Spirit. So what about hatred? Or sin? C.S. Lewis, said it in this way, You can be good for the mere sake of goodness; you cannot be bad for the mere sake of badness. You can do a kind action when you are not feeling kind and when it gives you no pleasure, simply because kindness is right; but no one ever did a cruel action simply because cruelty is wrong - only because cruelty is pleasant or useful to him, In other words, badness cannot succeed even in being bad in the same way in which goodness is good. Goodness is, so to speak, itself: badness is only spoiled goodness. And there must be something good first before it can be spoiled. So by rejecting God in any way we are going away from goodness. So what? Well for one is God is the source of all life. What can you hope for more than a tree that has been cut off from its roots. If a tree has no roots, no source of life, it has no other option than to decay and die. Also if God truly is love, goodness, and kindness how foolish it would be to honestly think your prefer the company of anyone else over it. No one else is always good or always kind or always loving. So why does Jesus matter? Well I mentioned immediate justice would mean there would be no more humans, but delayed justice is not denied justice. God has to judge because the is actually good. So what? Well none of us are good. Romans 3:10, "There is none righteous, No not even one." So what hope is there for us? God must judge, because the payment for sin must be payed for, but what if someone else could pay it? Certainly humans cannot, we determined they all sin. Angels? The scriptures suggest they can become corrupt, certainly if they put on flesh as a human. But what if God paid for the sin? But God the Father cannot die. But what if He took on a finite body such as us humans have? Well that's just what God did. Jesus who was with the Father in the eternities, became man. Jesus was tempted as we are, yet never sinned. Always acted in love, was in perfect relationship with the Father, and followed His will in perfect submission. He suffered and died as an atonement for our sins. He fulfilled the law and became the promise in the Mosaic covenant. He is the seed promised to Abraham for the redemption of His people. Through Jesus all mankind can have a right relationship with Him by grace and through faith. If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. - Romans 10:9-10

Q4 - I, very much agree with you, concerning the ramped up ⬆️ and increasingly strong focus on “Jesus Christ is returning soon”…R U Ready? I believe that this can be dangerous, if too aggressively pushed. In my humble opinion, as Christians, we should put more focus on living our daily lives in a manner that glorifies God. Believing and Trusting in The Lord and asking Jesus Christ into every aspect of our lives, each and every moment. It’s not so easily accomplished…but we strive to live more Godly lives and have Faith in the Shed Blood 🩸 of Jesus Christ and His Finished Work on the Cross. Praise His Holy Name. Amen 🙏.
