This is the first of a new series of episodes where Mark and Anne respond to a documentary titled, "Is Genesis History" a 2017 American Christian documentary created by Thomas Purifoy Jr. that promotes the pseudo-scientific concept of Young Earth creationism, which goes against established scientific evidence on the origins of the Universe, the age of the Earth and universe, the formation of the Solar System, and the evolution of life. The film argues for a literal interpretation of the biblical book of Genesis, including the belief in a six-day creation process and events such as Adam and Eve, the fall, the global flood, and the tower of Babel. Mark and Anne will provide refutations to each one. You're going to wanna see these until the end. Our episode concludes with 20 reasons based on the research of Geologist LORENCE G. COLLINS
.

05:47 That 2% number for AAAS scientists who don't believe in evolution seems shockingly high. Are they perhaps including engineers and the like it the survey pool?

28:23 Outburst floods don't produce winding canyons like the Grand Canyon. They instead form scouring features over a wide area such as the Channeled Scablands in Washington State, USA. A handful of outburst floods _have_ occurred in the Grand Canyon (the Colorado River has been dammed several times by lava flows) but they had a minimal impact on the canyon.

41:55 Chalk also forms very slowly, around 0.5 mm per year. The Dover cliffs are 110 meters tall and the formation they are part of is 500 meters thick in places, this means they took at least 1,000,000 years to form. Furthermore, chalk can only form in still shallow water; it could not form under the conditions of the supposed global flood,

20:00 This flood myth can be traced back to a local flood in the city of Shuruppak (modern Tell Fara, Iraq) circa 2900 BCE. The bible version of the myth wasn't written until over 2500 years later.

Most obvious reason: if the Grand Canyon was formed by a *worldwide* flood, there would be other Grand Canyons all over the world!

Think outside of the box! Look at a lightening strike. Then go to Google earth and look at any canyon, you will see the same pattern as a lightening strike. Plasma lightening would create the Grand Canyon in just moments.

No it wouldn't. We know how canyons form and can observe the process and its results. Were your hypothesis to be true we 1) Would see it occurring today (we don't). 2) Would see evidence of it, such as vitrification, in canyon walls (we don't) 3) Would not find extensive deltas where rivers meet the sea.

I have noticed that as well, and the big gash in mars, same thing, but does not mean lightening done it, many things make similar patterns, even jesus picture in toast, lol.

Look up Robert Gentry's video called Young age of the Earth. I'm not saying he's absolutely correct or anything. I'm just saying that his analysis of what happened was due on to a large body of water that eroded fairly quickly to escape after the flood had already happened. So the general consensus is that it WAS due to a large body of water being held and then it eroded and cut the rock by the sheer volume and pressure of the water. The video has an example of what water in large escaping amounts can do. I think you might find it interesting.

The documentary claims that idea, but that is not the consensus among geologists. Perhaps among creationists yes. But not the experts. We provide 20 reasons why that is not the case in fact. Please check it out and let me know your opinion then.

this video is incorrect. In Genesis chapter 8 it clearly says in my KJV, re-edited, re-written, new English, totally biased version "and the Lordeth saith 'the Grandeth Canyoneth is now completeth'"

That's one thing I've never understood. Instead of trying to twist the wording of the KJV to fit what we know to be true about the world why not just write a new version? After all, the bibles have a long history of being rewritten. Even the oldest surviving versions are known to be heavy rewrites of the originals.

The problem exists , (and there's no way around it anymore) is that reading texts in our modern nuance, does a complete disservice from the what it's original intention was. The J.W's exist only because the word "Jehovah" was created by a Jesuit and used in the KJV not because Gods name was actually "Jehovah". The KJV also uses "Jonah and the whale", and whales were not found in those waters, however very common off the shores of England. This is why I laugh at those who think the KJV bible is the real bible, when in fact, it has been corrupted (not in a bad way) by men.

We all go into these types of thought experiments with some presuppositions. I guarantee that you aren’t looking at this evidence with an open mind that creation could explain it. You start with the assumption that it all happened by chance. You eliminate God from the equation before you even begin with your “reasoning”. Nice try, but you’re the same as all the rest.
