Skramz is a stupid name, i mean it sounds real lame. Even more stupid that you have to put what it actually is in parentheses. The bands are sick though... Also- listen to Charles Bronson or The Locus, with a bit of Moss Icons' first record for old school screamo influence. They are, after all, the bands that started it.

Being old as hell (42) and growing up in the scene late to early 2000s I was super into PG99, saetia, Joshua fit for battle, the locust, off! and all the early Skramz ( what we called Screamo then ) It was nice stumbling across this and hearing bands I haven't heard.

follow up because i finished the video: closet witch and kurio jukai are officially on my listen more of. elaine elaine, flesh parade also seem totally brutal and excellent, cant wait to check them out more. a lot of these bands like healing powers, nuvolascura terry green got that good mathy borderline midwest emo energy. i like that too. you did a good job getting together a variety of rare and different scramy sounds.

I haven't encountered that, maybe it's just who you talk to about it. Getting mad over what people call your music is a waste of time/energy. Genres are made up as are the names of said genres. It's all a time-waste game don't sweat the suckers

basically skramz became the name for the more OG “real” screamo bands. it’s basically used to differentiate those corporate hot topic bands to bands like these. it basically started as a joke but it became its own thing. some people call it screamo some emo violence or just skramz

They were basement-show legends who made a mythic rumble in concrete walled laundry rooms and rec centers around the Midwest. Their stuff is on KZbin but it’s not the eastern European ska band of the same name
