Dilla's music is like a fine wine, or a great work of art or literature, so much depth, so many layers - you can study his music for years and still find nuances you missed. Humanity levelled up when Dilla started dropping beats. If we want aliens to visit we need to beam Dilla across the universe, they will come 👽

Lucy Pearl Without you Remix is the hardest remix beat he made in my opinion . I can't forget Show me what you got from Busta Rhymes. Beej n Dem pt2 from Welcome 2 Detroit has the hardest drums ever in a hip hop beat. It's like that from Welcome to Detroit is also a must listen for every hip hop head. Why are J Dilla fans so adamant about claiming him as the all-time great ? No other fans do this so persistently. He’s a good producer and made some dope tracks but there are producers that are better than him IMO.
@BackToTheBoomBap6 ай бұрын
Everyone's entitled to their opinion. Inevitably there's always someone who will ask this question. But for one thing is sure. Dilla did not get his flowers while he was alive. He did from his peers but not from the masses but I really don't think he cares about that all that much. He focused on the music. And even though I call the Dilla the GOAT, I talk about the other great hip-hop producers on here too. Premier, Pete, Large Pro and many others.
@gabeeskridge82915 ай бұрын
Is your equipment in the Smithsonian? How have you inspired millions upon millions with your art? Your comment is telling , come to this inspirational doc , talking about other producer's 😂. You cannot comprehend the scope of his gift , as many others don't. That which you don't understand you attempt to tear down , you expose yourself.
@amirolumroti63455 ай бұрын
Find out who inspired those producers that you claim are better, and more often then not it leads back to Dilla. Like the comment above me, you don’t understand the scope of his gift or the impact he has had. No one has humanized a piece of beat making gear to the point that Dilla has, hence his MPC being in the Smithsonian. Do your research bro.
