Living in Crooklyn helped him a lot also. Not taking nothing from Texas because it’ has tough neighborhoods to but Crooklyn is in a world by itself especially back in the 80’s/90’s. I think living there gave him something that helped him create that gritty jazzy boom bap sound he is known for.

As a beatmaker myself who has sold some mount of beats I find this video inspiring that sometimes when some artists don't use your beats it's because it may not match 100% with their style or what they are looking for exactly that moment, but it doesn't mean that the beat is bad because another great artist might use it
