You didn't show filling the oil filter before fitting. They hold round a litre of oil so it's well worth doing so that the oil pressure build up quickly.
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk10 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching mate. The oil filter is quite small. The Oil filter only holds 220ml - 250ml. If it was an empty canister it might hold around 350ml, but with the filter element, steel internal structure, pressure valve, etc, it holds very little. You can pre fill it if you like, but it will be filled with oil within a second or two of the engine running. When I was doing my apprenticeship, we were always taught that there is no point in filling an oil filter that holds less than 700ml. Which in modern terms there’s only a small handful of cars that run filters that large.

Good content. Very similar to the n/a 1.6 version of the same variant. There is a fill tool suited to those drain plugs made by nulon. And the fill plug as per the fsm is actually below the battery tray. I must have missed what kms you are up to. Is this the first trans service since new? What oil did you end up using? Filter is part of the trans and a non serviceable item unless removal and disassembly of the trans.

Hi mate and thanks for watching. I did know that Nulon have the fill tool. I have a couple of the different Nulon attachments but don’t have this particular one. I used penrite ATFLV. Did 2 drain and refills as the fluid wasn’t overly dirty, but it drives very different now. Car had done 50k when did this service. It’s now about to hit 60k.

Need to confess my sins, have re used the sump plug washer for 12 oil changes straight. (Though always pre fill the oil filter) and have on occasion washed the air and cabin filters in the washing machine. Great video thanks, good clear information. Was less than impressed with Suzukis cost cutting wheel bolts. Also imagine if Suzuki (Aisin) did something revolutionary, something so advanced, something from decades in to the future, and put a fill port in the top of transmission? Could then use "the force" to get the new fluid back in.

Oh mate that makes my ocd go into overdrive. Improbably wont sleep tonight now! There is actually now a fill plug in the side of the transmission that most of the facelift vitaras have. My wife’s one is the only facelift model I’ve seen that doesn’t have it. But hers is one of the first facelift so perhaps it got an old transmission case? Who knows

@cassarindustries_wheelwerk Thanks for the update. Re the sump plug washer, never had one leak or come loose, so if you ever need to do an oil change, and for whatever reason don't have a new crush washer, pretty safe to chant the Aussie classic, "she'll be right mate"

Good info on the tyres. Can you tell me if the 60 aspect tyres are OK on full lock or do they catch or rub on the wheel arch liner?

You’re welcome mate thanks for watching. Absolutely no rubbing at all. Car feels better also. I dare say you could almost go a 65 profile however haven’t tried it

Great video. I've just recently purchased a new S-Cross with the same 1.4 Boosterjet motor. I noticed that you cleaned the throttle body. Being direct injected, have you noticed any carbon build up issues on the inlet valves yet, or before 60.000 km? Do you have any ideas about that subject with these motors? From what I hear, they don't seem to be as prone as many other DI motors? I'd very much appreciate the benefit of your experience. Cheers.
@cassarindustries_wheelwerk11 ай бұрын
Appreciate the support mate and thanks for watching. Haven’t noticed an issues like that at all. They are direct injection, but operate differently to Di engines. Unleaded fuel also doesn’t have any where near as much carbon as diesel, so I’d be very surprised if you had any issues with carbon build up in the inlet manifold.

@@cassarindustries_wheelwerk Cost, suspect it's purely a financial decision. Once apon a time we used to get a spare wheel, then cost saver spare wheels, then no cost spare wheels.

I've got the same one, except I also got Allgrip. the boosterjet engine is really capable and has a got pull from 1500rpm and up. When having the allgrip version, you can also choose the sport mode, that makes the pedalreaction a bit faster. I like the blue color, looks so fresh. Does the hood protector really do anything? Within a month I will get a strut brace for the front. Looks good and hopefully it also works.

Thanks mate. I really tried to convince the wife to get the all grip but she couldn’t justify the extra few grand. A few months after she got it she really regrets not getting the all grip! Money well spent in my opinion. Bonnet protector has definitely saved us some stone chips that’s for sure. Thanks for watching mate we appreciate it

Thanks for the video. I’m planning to change my Vitara tyre size from 215/55/r17 to 215/60/r17. Did you have any problems after installing 215/60/r17 tyres? Did they fit well? Thanks.

Nonissues at all. Fit perfectly, car feels a bit more comfortable on road, and the Speedometer is almost spot on now. Before the Speedo was out by about 6kmh at 100

Does the engine cover just pull straight off the Boosterjet engine, or are there some fasteners? I couldn't find any on my S-Cross 1.4, but it seems very tight.

The fill plug for the Automatic transmission is underneath the Battery tray. The plug is a Torques pattern plug. The Battery plus the Battery tray must be removed from the vehicle. And there is just enough room for a tall slim funnel.
