20 Tenors sing Di quella pira High C

Well, the title is somewhat misleading, since not ALL of the 20 tenors assembled here actually sing this cabaletta in the key of C. Some of them sing it in B...and a couple can only manage B flat. Regardless, this is another compilation, just for fun, where it's up to YOU to guess which tenor goes with which "All' armi!". See how many you can get and post your answers here. Good luck!

My favorite is Mario Del Monaco (the 12th), but I also like Filippeschi (1st), Baum (2nd), Merli (6th), Penno (7th) and De Muro (the last one).

Bjoerling by far THE ABSOLUTE BEST...he just sits on the note like he owns it, even when he sings the high B it doesn't sound forced or pushed and when you hear his voice even a high note relaxes you like doing a beautiful Savasana in Yoga. Its so natural and ...Oh my God, words can't describe that great Tenor. I can do my Yoga practice to Jussi Bjoerlings singing but never with ANY other tenor even crooner Bocelli. God descended amongst us with Jussi's beautiful voice...

I hate to burst you're bubble, but Bjorling's forced high note has a lot of vibrato. Volpi, probably in his 60s was arguably the best Manrico in history. Fillipeschi, the first tenor on the menu also sang one of the best Pira's in history. In MyOpinion, Bjorling a great tenor was not a heroic Manrico, like FC MDM MF GLV RT

@@sugarbist Bjoerling sings B here, as he sometimes did transpose down, he did here have some excessive vibrato, that was on occasion , not to burst the bubble twice, anyhow I was impressed by Baum, even if not at all a pretty voice, his high C was really impressive.

I like the Di Quella Pira in B flat because high B flats of a tenor are extremely exciting!!!

In my humble opinion it's much better to hold the B note longer rather than going for C and keep it for like a second . I think to truly represent that aria and look from the perspective as a whole unit you need to sing that high and keep it long enough to to make people sit on the edge of the seats , it's hard as hell but if you pull it off .... , from all of them Corelli owns this aria.

...and in listening to this compilation again, I noticed that several of the clips play at too fast a speed, giving the impression that a few of the tenors here sang the piece in C# (which NOBODY does!). Perhaps I need to redo this entire video...
