Hey everyone I am gonna say this as nice as possible…. I have been reading and removing comments about the quality of food and where it was bought. There are people who struggle everyday in the ability to feed their families, and for some to come on here and bash and shame this video is sad. How about we be kind humans and encourage others to feed their families by whatever means they can. It makes you sound hoity toity, pretentious and condescending. There’s no shame in the game if a belly is full and a family is happy. Let others be. Stop shaming.

One of the things I cooked for dinner was white rice cooked in any kind of canned broth. Once it was cooked, I melted a slice of cheese over it. And that worked with ramen noodles, too. I would eat this dinner and be thankful to have it. Some people have never had to struggle and that’s the problem. I was a single mom of three kids and sometimes had to go to the church food pantry. You learn to make something out of nothing sometimes and are thankful to get it. This meal looks delicious and thank you for sharing your ideas.

Pretty much every thing she used was a name brand, or a generic that is just as high quality as any typical store brand. Personally I would have made a tweak or two, and found a way to include a can of cranberry sauce, but she did a really great job. And the best part of all, was that not only was this meal really cheap, it was also VERY accessible for someone who has limited access to kitchen gear/fridge space, as well as being very accessible to someone who has no kitchen skills or is disabled. Personally, I am one hell of a good cook, but I am also currently disabled and on chemo. This entire meal of recipes is at a level that could be prepared by someone with very low stamina, or even easily delgated to a helper/child of ~8+yo while supervising and directing from a seat at the table if absolutely needed (or they just wanted to help). This is also a good menu for someone who has to work over the holiday, or can't make it home to be with family and doesn't want a lot of leftovers to deal with. The quantities shown would easily make 4-6 hearty-sized meals to take to work.

That was my initial reaction as well. I had it on simply while working on something else - not even sure why YT recommended it sicne I don't watch many cooking videos. So, out of one eye I had that one while doing something else, but when she started on the veggies - I was intrigued....the pie had gotten me interested, but the veggies...impressed.

Strange but true. As a kid I thought government peanut butter and Kayro syrup mixed in an old metal ice tray after removing the metal sectioning part. Then frozen was homemade candy. Me and my brothers made it up. All our friends thought we were the bomb. As an adult cooking was always my game.

When I was little back in the 1950s my dad was a carpenter. When it rained he couldn’t work. We went through many days when all we had was beans and rice or cornbread to eat. If we had meat , my dad ate it. He had a hard physical job. My dad made a garden and we had chickens. We didn’t starve but we didn’t waste food either. I admire this lady for showing us how to feed a family on a strict budget. Our representatives and congressmen should watch h this show to see how a great majority of our citizens have to make a dollar stretch from paycheck to paycheck. Please keep showing us how to make a dollar go further. Great job. Thank you👍👍👍👍

The way we cook and what seasoning we choose to use are based on CULTURE and that should stop being disrespected because we are all different. Thats what makes this human experience so special. OUR DIFFERENCES. Vidoes like this can help SO many people who are struggling to get by. Alot of peoole dont know how to cook at all.. these vidoes can and are saving/improving the qaulity of lives many people have. Seriously.. think outside yourselves sometimes. My mother survived starvation in a work camp. She would have loved this Dollar Tree meal, which Momma made with creativity and love, and for only $20! I remember our Thanksgiving dinners where potato pancakes and stuffed cabbages (made for a few dollars) were the stars of the show. I adored them and never felt deprived. We never ate out, as my parents saved to send their kids to college. To the shamers: please understand that many families eat well and within a budget. I have subscribed and rang the bell -- Momma is a Rock Star!

Honestly mostly what you bought is sold in Krogers , Walmarts , etc just more expensive. Some people just don’t give Dollar tree a chance and meats just because it is from there but it’s not different because even main stores sell generic brands as well. It’s elderly, people who don’t want to spend hugely on big turkeys , Ham and want to simplify their meals and looking into money saving
