Yes, it woulda made more sense for Rey to be a Kenobi. Obi-Wan and Duchess Satine of Mandalore had their romance and Satine had a baby that she kept secret from Obi-Wan until the time was right, but after her death and Order 66 he never found out. That child grew up knowing of his/her parentage and eventually had Rey. So Rey would be both a Jedi and a Mandalorian. Imagine the story possibilities.

1] "Related to Obi-Wan" didn't necessarily mean "granddaughter". While we know the origins of Rey's father, her MOTHER is still 90% a mystery. Miramir could've been part of a branch of the Kenobi family that left Stewjon, maybe Obi-Wan's great-great niece, someone that Dathan came across while on a mission for Palpatine, and their love inspired him to finally and fully break away from something he already hated. Their names were released in May of this year. It would've been interesting to have a heroine with both Dark AND Light-Side heritage, if only the powers that be had begun the journey to that reveal much sooner. 2] Billie Lourd also stepped in as the body-model for Leia, when they shot the flashback of the Skywalker twins' shared Jedi training. 3] That excuse about Kelly Marie Tran is total BS, because it was just one of many middle fingers in TROS's convoluted storyline. The subtitle for the movie should've been "Catering To The Haters", because so many of the changes made from TLJ were a direct response to things that were the most heavily complained about. They also eliminated her as a potential love-interest in one of the trilogy's spinoff novels, having Finn tell Poe that he saw both her and Rey as just being his friends. (10/8/2022)

Covid stopped me from going in 2020, but am going in 2023 after renovation at their HQ. It was on ebay in May. Had to keep it quite and then in December JJ Abrams announced it Good Morning America. Aside from the disastrous and incomprehensible storyline, my main beef with the sequels is that they don't look like Star Wars. They were shot with different looking sfx, lighting, filters, etc. Disney hired prima donna action film directors and let them make their own movies. In contrast, Lucas controlled everything himself, even with Eps. 5 and 6 where he hired less well-known directors who had some creative license but who ultimately answered to him.

Tervorrow's script sounded interesting to me. He was taking both of what JJ and Rian had put out there and building off of that. Unlike when Rian just ignored so much of what was laid out in the first movie. Force Awakens was a rehash of A New Hope but it also added some cool stuff with the new characters. They should have had one director for the entire trilogy. I had so much hope after the first one and I walked out of Last Jedi feeling meh. Some cool things in Rise but it was trying to fix all the complaints about Last Jedi. I would love for a directors cut of Rise but knowing Disney and Lucas Film not giving us the theatrical cuts of the original trilogy...not holding out hope.

Which was worse: "Solo" or "Rise of Skywalker"? The Rose character came off no more than a filler in "The Last Jedi". Bad writing. The actress deserved better. The whole Canto Bite subplot was almost completely pointless. The inclusion of Palpatine was clearly a "let's try and win over the fans" attempt. The survival of Palpatine (and pretty much the Death Star, as well) was ridiculous. I've heard complaints from fans that they didn't want him to return as a clone, but a clone would have made 10,000% more sense. I've imagined Ian McDiarmid acting as a clone without prosthetic makeup and I think that would have worked better.

I think the main problem with Rise of Skywalker is, that it spends too much time undoing or repair the trainwreck caused from the Last Jedi. Imho, the reason Ryan Johnson didn't direct Rise of Skywalker was because he already accomplished his 'mission' with the Last Jedi by wrecking the whole series. It's like he crashed a lend car, and gives it back to it's previous owner, and saying "I'm done. Here is your.... car."

This is of course subject to debate but to me this is the absolute worst of the nine episodic Star Wars movies. The Phantom Menace and Attack of Clones have their issues but at least they are coherent. The Rise of Skywalker is a mess through and through, and regardless of how one might feel about its immediate predecessor, it was a terrible idea to dismiss the plot and message of The Last Jedi.

I hope this gives you solace, TLJ is per definition "Non Canon". The so called "Holdo Maneuver": Original Trilogy: Death star blows up planet(s). Holdo Maneuver: Does similar damage with way cheaper production value. Logical assumption: No one would build a death star, if the technology of the Holdo Maneuver/(aka Hyperspace ramming) exists in the lore/canon/universe, for at least two reasons: Death Star is way too expensive compared to a single capital ship. Death Star would be a way too easy target for the Holdo Maneuver itself and no one would build it in the first place. Making the finding of any plans for a weakness redundant. (swep4 A new hope would be obsolete) Conclusion (Q.E.D.):Holdo Maneuver is not canon=>TLJ is not canon

The phantom menace and attack of the clones are way better then the rise of skywalker I rewatched the phantom menace a few days ago and it’s In my top 3 favorite Star Wars movies

Chill, Attack of the clones was the only film we really go to see a Jedi anakin skywalker for the entirety of the film,it has the best Star Wars battle of all time in the battle of Geonosis introduced so many cool characters like kit fisto jango fett count dooku and is just the better film

I don't know. "The Last Jedi" was wrapped around the pointless and illogical "star cruiser" chase. "Blast! These Resistance cruisers are outrunning us! Wait! Call in five star destroyers and have them cut them off! We'll box them in and make short work of them." That really sunk the movie for me...along with the pointless Canto Bite subplot and pointless waste of Capt. Phasma for the second time. Oh, and there's the "Lets redo the Hoth battle!! No...wait! Fans would get angry. What to do...what to do! Ah! I know! We'll replace the snow with salt!! The fans will be fooled!"

ANAKIN Skywalker should have been the one to kill Palpatine. Rey could have handed Anakin his lightsaber (like she previously did with Luke). We also wanted to see VISIBLE Force Ghosts behind Anakin as he killed Palpatine. If Lucasfilm had to make two versions of the movie, one with Force Ghosts and one without, so be it. Some countries don’t believe in ghosts; The USA does: The Holy Ghost, Force Ghosts, etc.
