If a wall safe is not in the corner, smash out the block supporting it and it will drop. Also Gas barrels burn for about 20 min Coal for 20secs Wood frames for 40sec... Nearly forgot, put your log spikes upside down outside your base for an easier headshot. Place them flush with the ground. The zee's will walk straight onto them and won't have that annoying bounce. Still does the same damage though.

One tip I saw in other videos I wish I had known earlier: if you put the log spikes upside down, it still damages zombies, but the surface is flat so they dont bob up and down at weird intervals. making it MUCH easier to hit them. Also you can make walls out of pillar 50 blocks to be better arrow slits and still keep zombies out, even melee them, just have to stay out of their melee reach (which is shorter than yours) when they pile on the wall. Can do the same thing with pole blocks (NOT CENTERED) on their side. Both have advantages and disadvantages (pillars are narrower horizontally, making it somewhat easy to hit the wall instead of the target, while pole blocks can make it difficult to hit headshots on the taller zombies, but both disadvantages are slight and can be worked around.)

You can also use the workbench to double your workload. You can craft simple items in the workbench, AND you can craft some of the same items in your inventory, making some bulk items twice as fast.

As well as always checking sinks in houses, you should also ALWAYS check toilets, they're a great source for Pistols and 9mm ammo. Also, the tool and die set for the forge is something that has to be found, rather than made. Not trying to be a corrective-Colin but that may frustrate some new players who can't figure out how to make it after watching this xD

true, but the wrench being one tool is still best for dismantling things it seems and is fairly decent for building/upgrading so if you have a choice for just one tool the wrench is a bit better choice

Yeah, the wrench is good for take apart cars though and the hammer can't do this, so I tend to keep the wrench handy.

Nail gun is the fastest but you can't get it as early as the wrench or the claw hammer. you can also use the wrench to take apart office chairs (the one with wheels) and get part from them or if you find an abandon workbench then you can take it with you. I prefer the hammer for building/upgrading (until I can get a nail gun) but I always have a wrench in base just in case.

He just knows the mechanics of the game better mate. I've only recently realised the scavenging skill is probably the most improtant to level first. Also tools increase their entity/block damage with more quality they have and this guy clearly did not level those (he has a 61 quality shovel and 82 fireaxe) .

Missed one thing that you didnt mention but i think ios important (might have missed it). If you scrap raw ireon you get 3 iron if you melt raw iron in the forge you get 5 iron). same works for alot of other iron items

I carry spikes with me in the quickbar to drop if I have to quickly block a doorway or defend against dogs/wolves in open ground. Throw down a few wood frames and you have an impromptu hunting stand.

If leather is a problem, you can also get it from scrapping shoes from zombie businessman. Some other shoes might scrap to leather but know that one for sure.

A wood frame @ the base of a ladder will be destroyed by zombies and then leave 2 squares w/o a ladder that they really have a hard time getting to. edit: You can still jump to it though as long as the frame is there.

I’m not sure if this is true, but it seems that if you sprint then jump, let go of sprint then sprint when you hit the ground then repeat, it seems that you can stay neutral on your usage of AP.

Am wondering: if you craft something with the workbench and/or forge, do you still get EXP from crafting items with them? If you're playing with another person and they kill the zombies (after you stunned/whatever), do you get EXP from damaging the zombie?

Yes the hammer is better then wrench. The wrench is primarily used for dismantling.

Hey I started playing Alpha 16 a few days ago(i have experience from alpha 8 with ocasional breaks) and I can't seem to find anything in randomly generated worlds.I only find gravel/country paths but no asphalt/main streets which lead to random camps/traders which are not so worth going out for.I would really like to know why the city from 0,0 is not at 0,0 on my world and also why my world lacks anything bigger than a few tents with a campfire.I am really lacking lootable schematics and resources since all of my stuff has to be made from scratch and gathered only from pure nature everywhere.What is this?I want to have fun exploring, I was like"umm, no roads?then there must be some connected to the central city, let me go find some" guess what, no central city and no roads...I hope you can give me some advice, either I'm very unlucky to not find anything, either my random gen is bugged for some reason or either they removed the cities from random gen/made them EXXXTREMELY rare.

Random gen is exactly that. Either make a new seed, use an existing one, play navezgane or explore more in your current one. Navezgane isn't as big as random gen but it feels a lot more "natural".. However there are some really cool seeds out there too!

Is the recipe not know at start for wrenches? It feels as though several patches have been that way. Short iron pipes can be had from toilets even with a stone ax, wrench makes the job faster, naturally. There is an initial drawback to iron tools especially when you are using them prior to mid and high tier Sexual Tyrannosaur and Miner 69er is that swinging them tends to crush your stamina. The drawback to having less/no stamina while working is that you do less damage/second and damage/durability. This means that you gain experience less quickly as well, since damage done is a main factor over time in gaining experience from resource gathering. Not only are the fields of crops good to simply use they naturally allow you to harvest then make seeds, thus giving you a renewable food source, of which corn seems most desirable. The fields are also typically quite flat and ready to be tilled with a hoe, thus making the tilled ground capable of producing 2 normal crops/1 seed and 3 corn/seed.

hanzo52281 tool safe you can use pickaxe. Takes it out a lot quicker. Although people use sledgehammer with breaking and entering perks now and you slowly level up blunt at the same time.

1 tip built a fucking mansion with the hardest blocks and around it dig a really deep hole and put the hardest spikes around your base deep into the hole and outside of the hole as wall spike

Hey this is a tip you should add for new tip vids what I did in my base was I made yucca plants or also know cactuses it is a efficient way to use at spikes and you get food other then old sham sandwiches with them 😉

If you plant them, do they not turn into something else than a cactus (Yucca plant?) and do no damage if I am not mistaken (or did they change that? I am a little fuzzy on that part) they give you 3 hunger and 10 stamina, they are good if you have a bad food situation and werry good to eat when doing somthing that needs alot of stamina.

You can get a work bench from a pass and gas break it with a wrench and take it home

Not anymore. Now you just destroy it doing that. You can only pick up workbenches, forges & cement mixers you've placed in an area protected by your claim block. Though you don't need to break them down anymore, you can just pick them up if they are undamaged. So you may have to repair them first, to pick them up.

In randomgene the 8d like 20 dire wolf and wolf pop on me and in my city constantly killing me... any advices ?

Dire wolf should not move in a group, if it is just a wolf then if you just run away from them then it will give up(I have not meet more then one so I don't know how they will behave in a gropp). If you want to fight them then do not stay on the ground, build somthing that you can escape to so that you can attack them but they can't attack you, if it is 2-4(dogs) they I usely just make 3x3x3 wood frame box to stand on but if they are 20 then you might need somthing that is more durable than that. The 3x3x3 wood frame box works against bears too but what you have to think about is that they attack 2 blocks in so try to keep in on one side of the box or you're screwed.

My best trick for dealing with dogs and wolves is to keep a stack of barbed wire fences on your hotbar, they are pretty cheep to make, and when you are running from the dog/wolf occasionally turn back quickly and throw a fence until the dog/wolf gets snared in it, then you can pummel or knife it to death fairly easily...

Exactly, so why would I waste the wrench's health on fixing things when I can use a nail gun or hammer? The hammer is only made of iron and the wrench is made of steel. Even late game, I only use a wrench when I'm looking to deconstruct things.

Wrenches have much better material efficiency when repairing, and upgrading doesn't reduce durability. Correct that the claw hammer is faster for upgrading, though.
