I know the pros take the glove off after every shot, but for the average golfer, take it off to putt but there's no need to take it off after each shot. If you're first to hit, you are adding time to your pre-shot routine to put the glove on.

As someone already mentioned, golf courses should have a basic simple vid like this to teach new players the basic etiquettes. I learned from my friends or by watching and what I think is proper. Like I always stand behind the person playing the ball. One, if the person miss hits, the ball can hit you and really hurt. Awesome Video...I still like the promo spots, really, keep them up. Unless the ball hits something it won't travel backwards so if you are to the side of the person but behind the line they are hitting on you are safe. Basically, to the side and behind you can also see the ball. The ball may go directly across if they hit it off the toe but not backwards. Thank you so much!

Good etiquette tips, MSH. Especially the pace of play and divot repair/fix. Many groups playing on weekends take way too long to complete a round. Also, people are told all the time to remember to fox your ball divots, but do not know how to properly fix the divot without messing up the greens (pulling roots up)

One more suggestion I would make with regards to marking your ball on the putting green. It's a tip I got many years ago (and still use to this day) from a pro I was caddying for. When marking you ball, always use a two sided marker with different sides (he used a quarter dated from his birth year). He always marked it with the "heads" side showing. If he had to move his coin for another player, he would flip it over to the "tails" side. It serves as an instant reminder to replace your marker to it's original position.

I think these are basic rules. I can do all of these things and still enjoy the game of golf. I'll also never play on the PGA tour but like to take care of the course and be courteous to the people I play with and the people I play in front of. Thank you for watching!

Etiquette is the one element missing from what many golfers' bring to the course. Fixing ball marks, not dragging your cleats on the green, sanding in your divots, and not walking in someone's line of a putt are all basic elements of golf etiquette that seem to be optional rather than mandatory nowadays. Some do these things but, too many don't. I was somewhat shocked about 6 weeks ago when I had the opportunity to play at Bay Hill here in Orlando. There were may unfilled divots and unrepaired ball marks on the greens, something that you definitely don't see in the annual pro tournament here. As this a private CC, I can only assume that the members are quite remiss in basic etiquette, something I find very disappointing. But I sand in anything close to my divot if it's unfilled in and I observe the unwritten rule of "fix your ball mark and at least 1 other" as I would not want a following group to think that I was the one that left a mark unrepaired. Well, let me get off my soapbox here and just say that your videos are always entertaining and keep up the good work. Regards.

Honestly, if I'm golfing solo I'd rather not play than be paired with other golfers I don't know. I adore the solo golf experience.

Unfortunately, that is the way the game of golf is designed. If golf courses didn't pair up groups imagine 1 person teeing off every tee time 10 minutes apart. I think of it like a basketball court where one person wants to take the hoop to himself. However, when you say if I'm golfing solo it sounds as if you also play with others at times (although you'd rather not).

@@mistahshorthitter oh I understand totally. When I have the desire to play a solo round I always ask if it's possible when I make my tee time, if they say it isn't then I usually don't play. I'm weird like that. I play rounds with friends and coworkers all the time, it's great fun but trying to get someone else to go mid-week or take time off of work usually means that I'm golfing alone which is fine by me.

Since I usually play solo, the most important rule for me is to let faster players play through. There's nothing worse than waiting behind a slow foursome.

As a single you are going to play faster than a foursome no matter if they are slow or not. Singles often cause a lot of issues on the course especially on a busy day.
