These multi-variety tastings are an invaluable resource for those of us who don't live in an area where we can taste a variety before we purchase the plant. Having multiple tasters' inputs is always a bonus (mainly so we don't have to try to judge a fruit's flavor based solely on the different ways Richard says "Wooowww guys, Oh. My. Gosh!) It's always an honor to see Edgar make an appearance, and we hope that the commercial dragonfruit farmer's business proves successful so we can start seeing quality USA-grown fruit replacing the bland imported varieties that give dragons their undeserved reputation as a tasteless fruit. But most of all, congrats on your new baby!! It's a good thing dragonfruit are such forgiving plants because you may have to decide between watering your plants, or getting an hour of sleep before the baby wakes you up again!

All dragon fruits in the store are very expensive, I was thinking grow it my own. what happened was Recently a local homeowner opened up his yard and let me pick some orange cacti in his yard and I can tell you that for years I have only bought red cacti in the store, but the orange ones taste It looks like it's out of this world. I can’t believe so many summers are spent eating red, but orange prickly pear is the sweetest with little spikes. Prickly pear actus orange fruit is a fruit from heaven.

As a person who is 1 yr into learning about growing, pollinating etc the video WAS SO HELPFUL! I so much appreciate the tidbits of great information Edgar provided. Working on expanding my dragonfruit offerings on Pine island in SW FL and this video is key to helping me select known varieties I'd like to add. Currently I have no idea what we have. Thank you to all who participated in putting this video together! 🙏🙏🤗

I could watch the old man in the middle eat and talk dragon fruit all day. I've learned more listening to him in this one video than all I've watched online so far (I'm currently in the process of germinating my very first little seedlings) in hopes to be able to raise up some little cactus to that big beautiful palm like trellis you built for them

What are you measuring?
@heirloomn.heritage70042 жыл бұрын
The meter tests for solids, sugar content, in the juice. Look up Brix meter. The higher the number, the more dissolved sugar, the sweeter. You can use on most fruits and vegetables.
