All of this shame that women hold about their private parts have to do with messages we get from others. Though my mother tried to shame me about my vulva (because she was ashamed of hers... something she happened to share with me) and I would occasionally read comments on porn videos like, "She needs a vaginal rejuvenation", I did not feel as ashamed of my voluptuous labia minora as I do now. Why? Because of a relatively recent (well, a few years' ago) brief intimate encounter. Before copulation, the man silently appraised my body and his gaze lingered on the faint wrinkles on my chest, then ended on my large labia, and I could tell that he wasn't happy with what he saw. It's like a dark cloud came over him. It made me feel horribly ashamed to this day. I hope to grow out of this shame by way of positive and empowering messages from other women, and hopefully, future partners. Ladies, you are not alone!!

Idk how or why I found your channel but I am eternally grateful! My vulva is a bright pink. My labia minora is a bright pink that goes into a dark brown color. My labia minora is smaller than my labia majora. My vulva is a LOT darker than the rest of my skin. I am a light brown woman, but my vulva is nearly black. I have black, but oddly straight pubic hair, so I’m not sure if those follicles make my vulva look darker. My labia majora are fairly thin, as are my labia minora, and my labia minora are darker than my labia majora. Inside, at the vaginal opening it is a rosy pink, creating kind of a striking contrast. I used to be very self-conscious about my vulva. The shape of everything looks quite a bit like vulva most represented in the media, but since everything is so dark, I thought that maybe I had done something to “mess up” the color, like use the wrong soap or wear irritating clothing. I still sometimes struggle with accepting my color, and in the past I considered bleaching, but overall I like how my vulva looks and ultimately wouldn’t change it.

I grew up in a small town where if you go out in the bushes in the farmers fields or hunting there's wood ticks everywhere. So you check everywhere including vulva so you don't miss it and get Lyme disease. So I saw myself when I was probably 4 or 5 with a mirror. I was never nervous about how I looked. Until I heard other women saying they looked different and that some of the ways they described themselves were like me, and they said they were ashamed to look as we do. It didn't occur to me that anyone looked any more similar than people with different noses or eyes. Glad the women in this video are pretty happy with themselves.

That's always made me a bit sad for (those) women, not recogonizing how, without exception, mezmerizingly beautiful and unique each of them are, "down there". No intention to be "foul" at all, just hoping maybe some woman, who thinks badly or self-conscious or insecure about the look of her own Labia/Vaginal area might understand that there is no "normal" and there is no such thing as it being "ugly". The uniqueness of shape, color, size, texture, asymetry, orientation and the very utter essence of femininity embodied by this part of your body is simply mind-blowingly, heart-breakingly beautiful. ALWAYS. Every one of you. Yes, even you. Please don't be ashamed or insecure. You are genetically a woman. Even if you are insecure, just try to share yourself. Be proud and enjoy yourself or be confident in allowing someone you trust to witness, explore and enjoy the absolutely gorgeous physical escence of your femaleness. It should be an incredible experience for you (both).

Great vid Shan. I think this topic was very interesting and informative from a guy's perspective. The fact that every contributor had a similar yet very different POV of what vajayjays are supposed to look like was great. The only time I look at my vulva is when I'm shaving. I'll admit that I've never taken out a mirror and got a better look at it. I've always been insecure because my clitoris is quite large and for a long time I've thought it wasn't normal. I suppose that insecurity stems from the fact that the vulvas of girls in porn most of the time are smaller. I've always been told I have a chunky vulva by my partners. I'm a curvy woman and know I have a little "excess" fat distributed all over my body but the first few times I heard that I was super offended. But now I'm just like hell yeah my monkeys chunky hahaha and what I mean when I say this is the portion where my abdomen transitions into my vulva is chunky. My labia major is also pretty chunky. My right side labia minor is longer than my labia majora and I've just recently noticed it and became self conscious. I started trying to tuck it into my labia majora but after this video I feel so much more comfortable knowing that it's normal not to be perfectly symetrical.

I’ve done some work on accepting and loving my body, but still struggle at times. I used to feel really self conscious about one of my inner labia hanging lower than my outer labia. I felt insecure about being asymmetrical, as time went by, I’ve felt more acceptance about that aspect. But being very light skinned, I always felt weird about having a “dark” vulva. Inner lips, gooch, clit, everything is really brown. I didn’t realize I wasn’t accepting of this until watching this video. I get a sense of peace when some women talked about having brown vulvas.
