I've always wanted to spend a nice week or two making ramen from scratch. This a shoyu tonkotsu ramen, with braised chashu, marinated amber yolk eggs, scallions, garlic-scallion-shallot aroma oil, pickled shiitake kombu, and fresh noodles from my favorite ramen shop in NYC.

It is so satisfying to make ramen because it is a labor of love. Though time consuming, making a large batch of great ramen (taré, aroma oil, noodles, double stock and toppings/ajitama) is certainly worth it when you, family and friends finally get to enjoy a nice' satisfying bowl. The asthetics, the blend of soft instrumental music and ASMR, camera work, editing and cooking technique make this channel stand out. just finished this for my sisters birthday today… shortened it to a week and used a lot of “close enough” ingredients and measurements, and had to make sure there was enough for 8+ people, but somehow it still came out as one of the most photogenic and delicious bowls of ramen we have ever eaten! super flavorful, every component was so beautifully thought out and frankly quite easy to make! the perfect recipe for someone like me who needs pacing. it was great being able to just do a couple things each day with a couple rest days in the middle. i definitely recommend trying this for anyone who works from home and has some extra time to dedicate to cooking! thanks, alvin! ⭐️

It's so good to see you here! I've been cooking a lot more in the last few years than even the years before that. I'm getting much more detail oriented and learning a lot of new cuisines. I've never heard of your flavored oil, but I do sometimes make my own infused soy sauce using the same ingredients! But half of my cooking is still quite simple college/style dishes. This winter I've been making a lot of Ramen from the international store, but I will usually add a soft boiled egg, green onions, and depending on the fats and flavoring included I might add fried shallots and king oyster mushroom, or coconut milk and cilantro, or something else. These have been really simple, delicious $1 meals that I've been enjoying throughout the cold season and I can't wait to put a little more time and preparation into trying yours!
